Was just watching ROTJ, starts off "Empire Building new Death Star", maybe if JJ watched ROTJ he would of written a new premise, but can you really blame him, he only had 6 months to get the script in and start filming. So why not just mimic ANH and play it safe. Problem is ppl these days have such bad taste, McDonalds makes millions just like these stupid movies. Eat it up Fuzz ball!

Death Star is tough to beat as far as weapons go.

I mean, how do you top it -- a galaxy-sized weapon? The Death System? Necro-Universe?

It's pretty much the best bad guys base ever.

The whole idea of the First Order is sort of like Kylo Ren. They act like they're the Empire (him Vader) as if they rule anything. Given the day and age it's actually surprising they didn't set up the movie as more of a terrorist group vs the republic. Having a giant FO army with a DSIII vs an absent republic army still seems so odd.

They really did build up their new "Empire" very quickly.

Like my naïve anticipation after viewing TPM: *in dork voice* maybe the next movie will explain everything.

Well the next movie is set up where there is no Republic and basically no First Order. It's like they wiped the galaxy clean. Outer rim excursions? That sounds like a *** flick title.

I didnt mind how much this movie copies a new hope but what does always bother me is how they couldn't come up with something better than another bigger death star and i hated how it was just as easily destroyable.

Yup, they should've failed their misson and Starkiller base survived to fight another day.

Would've meant more if it took more work to destroy it.

Unless these movies are trying to say that there is a bigger threat looming than Starkiller base....

As in Sith army?

I also was surprised that they took Starkiller Base out so quickly after it was introduced. Unlike the DS which was established in the opening crawl of ANH, Starkiller Base didn't appear until like an hour into the movie and didn't even last to the end. I assumed that with it being as massive as it was that it would be the SW equivalent of Mount Doom and that it would be a threat until the end of Episode 9. Guess not. :lol

It also gave Han a way to go out in a blaze of glory. His death was tragic but he alone turned the tide by suggesting they take their explosives inside, which in turn saved the entire Resistance (since no one ever evacuates a planet that is being slowly targeted by a damn super weapon.) :lol

I know you're making a lolz and it is funny but I like that the rebellion-resistance stand their ground just on the faith that the soldiers handling the assault will succeed.

But yeah they're not too smart. :lol

That would have really great. It would be epic if they took it down episode 9
