"George came back from Star Wars a nervous wreck," Spielberg said. "He didn't feel Star Wars came up to the vision he initially had. He felt he had just made this little kids' movie."

You know all the trailers will start with Han, Leia, Luke together.

No matter how many trailers there will be, they will all start with those 3. :lol

J.J. Abrams will be headed to London to begin shooting for the upcoming Star Wars movie in early 2014, but the director isn't too pleased with the overseas move. Though Abrams will move to London at the end of the year, the Star Trek: Into Darkness director has shot all his previous films in Los Angeles and lives there with his family. He even spent his own money to cover the cost of staying in Los Angeles for Into Darkness.

Abrams shared his anxieties on moving with the Produced By conference in Los Angeles, saying the filming in Britain "really does make me insane." He also shared his children's reaction. "When you're 13 and 14, it's like, '**** that, I don't care what the movie is,'" Abrams said, according to The Guardian.

Despite Abrams' reluctance, Disney's decision to film in London has historical precedent: All six previous Star Wars films were made at least in part in the U.K., and Abrams is mindful of the series' legacy and significance to fans. "It is so massive and so important to people," Abrams said. "I think the key to moving forward on something like this is honoring but not revering what came before."

Star Wars: Episode VII is expected in 2015, with two sequels following in 2017 and 2019. Parent company Disney, which bought Lucasfilm and the rights to Star Wars last October, is also expected to release stand alone spin-off films around characters like Yoda, Han Solo or Boba Fett in between episodes in the forthcoming main trilogy. Toy Story 3 writer Michael Ardnt has been tapped to pen the Episode VII screenplay.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

God knows all the SW films are so recogniseably british. Seriously other than there being a few english actors in them you wouldn't know where they were filmed so I don't see why tradition needs to be adhered to. Let JJ film where he wants. What does it matter.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

It's probably cheaper to film in the UK. And I don't know if it's changed or not, but they had some of the largest filming stages in the world there.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

yes it sounds to me also that they are going to use real sets whats just so good to hear after the CGI orgasm in the PTs...

Yep. Hopefully we'll get some live-action Star Wars for a change.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

I believe to be honest.. I remember reading something that Abrams likes to have balanced CGI and real sets combination in this movie what is more then welcome for me

That's what CGI is supposed to be for. Digital enhancement. Not replacement of the real thing.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

I will be 45 when episode 9 is released. :panic:

And Episode 12? How old then?

In all seriousness, what is your math based on? One every other year starting in 2015? If so, I'll be the same age. Yeah, I just counted on my fingers, every other year. I'll be 45 when we wrap this up...
