Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

I need to hear some script details. What the hell could this possibly be about? If they are going with an all new original story they're going to have to pull some old magic out of the hat to create greatness again. (just because my faith that anyone can create true greatness again be it music movies or otherwise in this day and age has diminished so much. (Only thing that has come close is LOTR in my eyes, but this is SW) But at the very least, these guys have all the things in order to make something special. It's almost reassuring to know IT CAN'T be as bad as the prequels.

BTW i'll be 39 when ep7 hits! (hopefully one more time to feel like a kid again before 40)

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

I'd be very surprised if they didn't take a few things from the EU, at least the Solo kids since it needs young main characters.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

My daughters name is Jaina, so i can't be totally against it. :)

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Oh wow! Really? That's a phenomenal nod to Star Wars. Was she named with that in mind?

Beautiful name too. ;)

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Not really named after the character. I was just reading some EU at the time and thought it sounded like a cool girls name.....GF agreed.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Recently realized my Daughter will be the same age when Episode 7 is released that I was when the orignal Star Wars was released. Sounds like a cool thing to share with her, hope it has as powerful an effect on her as it did on me.

::looks round room at tons of Star Wars junk::

Then again, maybe it would be best if it didnt. ;)

Yes, lord, yes!

You want to know something cool and genuine about the new film? Work on the major set pieces has already begun at ILM, and this is going to end up being the most elaborate physical build they've done for the effects team since "Return Of The Jedi," something I look forward to discussing with John Knoll when I see him at the "Pacific Rim" press day.
