Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

speaking of Hayden, This will forever be the only PT era version of anakin i care about.

I'd never have thought in a million years that we'd get more depth and better acting from a voice actor over an animated representation, than the physical actor himself. The irony is also not lost on me that these characters are based on the wooden puppets of Thunderbirds, yet Anakin is not nearly as stiff as he is in AOTC and ROTS. :lol

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Much like Jack nicholson, no REAL range at all. He's just got "ONE LOOK".
Jack Nicholson has Crazy/eccentric weirdo, Hayden has whiney *****.

Hey. At least Jack Nicholson is entertaining.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

So who thinks they will "cross-pollinate" the hell out of this new trilogy with the prequels?

Maul, Qui-Gon, Sidious, Obi, someone will turn up....

...to protect the investment they have made buying the whole shebang from Lucas?
Jar Jar and the rest of the prequel characters are worth a fortune to Disney, like it or hate it, I can't see them pretending it didn't happen.
Sure they will play it down at first to appease the fanboys seething, but I bet we even get a Gungan cameo at some point.

:)

I can definitely see prequel aliens turning up in the background, dunno about more prominent PT characters.

I don't think Liam Neeson would agree to being in another Star Wars movie

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

I missed out on the CG Clone Wars series. The movie that kicked it off received such poor reviews I didn't tune in from the beginning, then when everyone started saying it was decent after it had been on for a while. Of course LFL killed it before giving the show a proper ending.

I keep meaning to sit down and watch the 'essential' episodes.

I'm sure the Anakin, Obi-Wan and Yoda ghosts will pop up here and there.

They said that were making stand alone films also, correct?

I'd love to see one about Darth Vader at his nastiest hunting down Jedi. I mean nasty bad ***. Nastier than ESB Vader!

There is talk of a final made for tv movie to wrap up all the loose ends.

That's my expectation for more Vader. NOT doing anything with vader is kinda impossible.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

I know I'm not the huge Star Wars fan that alot of you guys are, but I'd like to see these new movies put the focus back on the real hero of the OT: Luke Mother****ing Sky****ingwalker.

I'm real tired of midichlorinated Jesus Vader.

This is what I was talking about. There's a reason they cut off The Clone Wars (which in Lucas' own words is canon), before key, high-profile characters were killed off.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

When he looked back at doing Episode I he wasn't actually all that happy that he did the movie.

Much like Alec Guinness i take it.
Granted, it wasn't a great film, but i think if they offered him a standalone film about Qui-gon, he might take it.

Besides, even if it fails, he can just use his superpower.

He voiced Qui Gon for Clone Wars. He's not opposed to coming back.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

I never knew that. The PT put me off that whole era of Star Wars so I never watched Clone Wars.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

I bought the film, watched it a couple times - then sold it on eBay. :lol

I didn't like it.

The series was easier to enjoy for me though - certainly as far as the episodes I've seen, go.

I've actually gotta give it a proper chance one day, & start from scratch.
