****! All i said was I thought the Boba scenario was stupid. Surviving that monster. It belongs in Pac Rim, not SW. That's IMHO...

For ****s sake, I'm listening to the 20th anniversary audio book of Heir to the Empire! I don't "hate" the EU.

Quick to defend there skippy. :lol

fair enough, I appologise. Don't force-choke me.

I agree, 90% of the "meat" of the Bouty hunters tales book was crap.

Speaking of the EU....

Disney has appointed a comittie to decie what of the games, comics, novels, and everything else is to be kept as "official Canon" and what is going to be relegated to the " infinites/ Elsewords/Non-canon" stories.

The Fact that they are Bothering with this AT ALL is GREAT news for those of us that Like the EU ( or atleast parts of it). Disney could simply have chosen to toss it all out, but instead decided to cherry-pick. And moving forward, EVERYTHING is getting made official Canon.

I'm betting then, Chewbacca migt get reserecected, along with Anakin ( solo) and Jacen. Along with the Vong getting ousted, but we will see.

Very, VERY eager to see what tehy decide, and come u p with.

My guess is that most of the stuff that happens after ROTJ (if not all of it) will not be official, because the new movies will be taking place during that time. Most likely they will rewrite what happens and may use some of the characters but not the stories.

A friend of mine owned them. I borrowed them, but despite the gorgeous cover art, I don't think I got through the first one. There weren't many SW EU books I picked up that I didn't read in their entirety. That is honestly the only one that comes to mind. I even remember reading some Kevin J. Anderson stories and even though as an adult look back on them as silly, I won't deny that they weren't entertaining.

As for picking and choosing which EU should be canon, seems a bit silly. All of this stuff was "approved" by George Lucas. If he actually had a 9-12 movie series in his head (I think it's obvious his plans always changed as evidenced by his first draft of Star Wars to final product), he should have said no to many of the directions the EU took. I don't think he ever anticipated more being made (as evidenced by an interview in the last decade where he said it was Anakin's story and it ends with his death and redemption), or else he wouldn't have allowed them to make any spin-off novels. The time before the OT was off limits because he had intentions of filling in those plot lines. But some references to the Clone Wars popped up in some books ( based on notes provided by George Lucas!) that contradict what Lucas eventually transformed the Clone Wars into.

I don't think anyone at SSF is arguing that they'll adapt the stories. I just don't see a need to destroy the continuity of events just for the sake of it when most of the things that happened were logical. I can see them disregarding the NJO and anything that happened afterwards since it had such a HUGE impact on the galaxy, the characters, and everything else that would require too much explaining whereas Luke being the Grand Master of a New Jedi Order, a Galactic Alliance/New Republic forming and a possibility of an Imperial Remnant existing, Leia as a government official, Han marrying her and having children, etc seems like a logical progression that don't need any real explanation and can be shown on screen and understood by anyone who has or has never read an EU novel.

And despite the complete absurdity, it'll still play better than the scene in ROTS. :lecture

..& then the Sarlacc lets out an almighty burp - knocking Boba's helmet off his head, to which he then responds in the spirit of Crispy Anakin:

"I HATE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!"

:lol

Indeed. Very interesting.

Has anyone seen any photos of Mark Hamill lately? That would be a dead giveaway if he was training or not. Maybe they've got him secluded away.

In his defense, Smash Burger is a damn fine burger. And that's coming from a vegetarian. ;)

Yeah that smash burger picture is mid last year I believe. He's dropped off the map. It could be a good sign ...

You know, Hamill is iconic to Star Wars, and it will be cool to have him "there", I'm glad hes coming to the party regardless of how he looks, but I think it would just be awesome for him if he ends up being ripped and in shape and just pulls off a big, " look at me, *****es" and surprises the **** out of everyone.

That guy was in "Paul," so he has some experience in the science fiction genre:wink1:

Holy crap! I can see why he was cast previously as a "young Matt Damon"
