As soon as the general public sees older Leia not wearing hair buns they will declare her return a failure, so why even bother. :lol

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

Right because the purpose of film is to stroke an actor's ego to the point of making an embarrassing movie. As I said before making the film without her actually guarantees that she'll keep her dignity. This is 31 years later. Way too much time has passed to force something that just won't work anymore.

So Harrison and Mark's inclusion lack dignity?

That remains to be seen. They've definitely got a better shot than Carrie.

Disagree. I think they're all in the same boat. Ditching Carrie because of some BS tabloid article that every idiot is suddenly believing is ridiculous.

HF and MH have never stopped acting, especially HF, so their inclusion is second nature really.

Unfortunaly for CF, she is only known for her book detailing her drug abuse and mental illness.

A cameo here and there doesn't count.

So her return can be embarrassing if not handled with extreme care.

Given most of Mark's work post SW has been voice acting, I'd be more worried about him. :lol

It would also be a hell of a *****slap to said actor, and frankly, tacky as **** given her contribution.

i am all for whatever works best for the story... i believe Han is more interesting "solo".... having Leia gone will add a layer to his character that we have not yet seen.

My concern is a 30 year married Han winds up being like Peter Boyle on Everybody Loves Raymond rather than Clint Eastwood in Unforgiven.

Yes yes yes...Han needs to be Clint Eastwood in unforgiven.. a edgy old space cowboy, gruff old and mean. Not a married soft ***.

I think maybe the old princess should die in 7, then Han and chewie, become even more of a badass pair.

Either kill Luke, Han and Leia off or CGI them.

Leia: "Han dear, I just thought I'd tidy the Falcon up for our anniversary.. & I've got something special planned tonight.."

Han: "Holy crap!!"

Chewie: (walks in eating gundark chips - the last box in the cupboard) - rwwgrhhrowrgh!! <translated; what's goin' on??>

Han: "He's eating us outta house & home! Ya big oaf! He shoulda moved out after the battle of Yavin!!"

Chewie: urrrghrrrrworrwhgh!!! <translated; Maaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!>

Leia: "Leave him alone Han - he's a growing boy, come here Chewie (hug) - & get your feet off the Dejarik table!"

Carrie doesn't look to bad considering she rarely wears make up or flattering clothing and she's going to have Hollywood's finest make up artists, well may be Disney's to make her look beautiful again. This casting call recast is pure bs, if they were going to recast a primary role they'd have done it after both Carrie and Mark first fell off the fitness wagon months ago. Its more than likely at this late stage to be for a stunt double or stand in.

As for killing her off, i don't see how that would enhance the story thats supposed to see the Skywalker saga come to a conclusion. Its more likely, probably a certainty that Harrison's character will be given a big send off. He wanted a heroic death back in RotJ and i don't see him changing his mind, if anything its more important than ever but it should be kept for the end of Ep VIII or beginning of Ep IX. This trilogy especially the first chapter needs the whole gang still in place and there's a lot of brother/sister potential to be explored before killing either Luke or Leia.

I think we'll know soon enough though, she's due to fly in to the UK within the next four weeks but i wouldn't be suprised if she was sent earlier with Mark to conclude their training...... probably at the Priory clinic.
