UPDATE 2!

/Film has more on the upcoming TFA teaser:
Wednesday, a very credible sounding rumor began to circulate that the trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens would be attached to The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. Well, we’ve heard from a very credible source that, with 100% certainty, the Star Wars 7 trailer won’t debut with Peter Jackson’s latest The Hobbit film. There’s a very strong likelihood it will play with that film but according to the source, Disney has “bigger plans” for the trailer debut than a simple attachment.
Disney having bigger plans for the trailer definitely makes sense. This could probably mean a TV debut first. Maybe with the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. mid season finale on December 9th? Disney already tried to do something similar with The Avenger: Age of Ultron teaser attaching it to the same show, but the trailer leaked online and they had to officially release it earlier.

We’re still waiting for 2 theater owners to give us feedback on the trailer. Also I’m waiting for a reply by the guy who posted the tweet yesterday and later deleted his account. We will keep you updated.

I believe it, this morning the site that found out about hobbit trailer and has been right so far said that they have heard of big things / a change of plans. Which makes me think trailer premiere sooner.

All of the Prequel teasers dropped in November, and i am sure all were on the OS pretty much straight away if not dropping there first, my mind is dusty from waaaay back.
Id assume this weeks ep of Rebels might see the trailer attached? Or...maybe the OS will drop it?
Or, maybe Thanksgiving for you Americans?
All in all, when it drops, I would love to see the internet statistics for it a few days later.
MOST ANTICIPATED MOVIE.

We can't go off of how the prequels were done, things have changed a lot, but also since it's coming in December next year and all the other movies came in May that changes things.
I remember the trailer for ROTS debut was on the Star Wars site

Doesn't matter this an entirely different time. (basically no internet back then, no access to knowledge at the drop of a hat, news didn't spread like wildfire etc.) But yes, it would be at least interesting i guess.

I got my spoilers from magazines back then :lol

No matter how good episode 7 is, no Star Wars movie will every take the place of my first Star Wars experience of watching episode 4 on the big screen in 77! I still consider Empire Strikes Back the best of all 6 but episode 4 will always be special to me.

I was a fetus in '77. :( My parents tell me I was there for ANH, but they could be lying. I think it would be awkward and impolite to ask about the date and details of my conception. :lol
