And we wonder why people freak out about **** like ebola. This was the Falcon for 2 seconds in a gif, and it made the nerdverse implode. Oi.

You miss the point. It's the first new footage of a Star Wars film in ten years. Like the ROTJ deleted scenes first seen at Celebration back in 2010, it's like finding new pages in the Bible.

Source? Curious.

My point was in relation to now. Now it's a whole other animal. Shyyt moves at lightning speed now, as compared to back then. (Twitter,FB, more online etc.)

So this is on topic
How 'Star Wars: Episode VII' Lost Control of Its Secrets

i do know what you mean, even world wide the internet was never as big as now, no way. entire cities, countries where people didnt care about the internet.

sure people in big cities had internet but there was a lot of people that had nothing back then. i do understand your point.

Don't care if it is or not. Not worried!

It's happening! Finally happening!

I don't know about having to be in big cities, I lived in rural Connecticut and was on line back in the day.

That being said, with any technology that isnt dying, it is growing, obviously. 10 years from now there will be even larger numbers of people on-line, making the current statistics look unimpressive. Look at China and India, right now the percentage of people online in China is 46% and India is only 19% vs 87% in the USA. China and India are on the verge of explosive growth in this area, something that will change the internet again in ways yet to be seen. In 10 years even the poorest of countries will have high usage percentages, thanks mostly to cheap smart phones.

10 fold was a good estimate, as internet users have grown from 281 million in 1999 to 2.9 billion in 2014.

But, if you look at growth per year, the figures in 1994 to 1999 were amazing, they varied from 80% to 50% growth vs a solid 8% in the past 2 years.

It could also be argued that in 1999, the key demographics that companies and studios covet had a very high ratio of online users, since they are the demo's that spend the most money.

Anyway, it was exploding back then, but is simply a fact of everyday life and a tool used by even the least technology minded people nowadays.

This info isnt being used to fuel a side of an argument, just found it interesting and thought I would share.

Just wait till the trailer hits. Some will love it, some will think it's meh, and others will think satan had an abortion on screen.

I'm very optimistic about this. I don't think J.J. was the best pick but that can be corrected with sequels. Still, it's Han and Luke and all the original tech and ships... you can't not be excited.

But after living through the prequels, I think it's fair for us to be a bit paranoid until the credits role. What's going to be really crazy though, is if it's amazing. Because then the sequel is going to have to be better to top it. And that is a thread I don't even want to imagine. :lol I mean, what if Han dies and the sequel has to be better without Harrison. :lol Good luck.

Even if it is amazing and i think it will be. (cautiously optimistic) Hardcore nerds/fanboyz will hate the **** outta it.

(We'll have out first idea about how this is gonna go with the teaser)

Even if Han dies, doesn't stop him from being cloned, ammirite.

Seriously though. All this movie has to do is be better than the prequels. That's nothing.

When the next one has to be better than this without Luke or Han or some ****, the internet will be a horrible place. :lol

If Ford sleeps his way through this one, people won't mind if they kill him off.

The key is to make new memorable characters that audiences can be invested in i.e Luke Skywalker 2.0 aka Disney youths.

And that won't be easy while Luke 1.0 is still very much there. I imagine by the third, Han will be dead, Luke will be a force ghost, and the new kids will have to carry the movie. I would not want to be the guy writing that.
