If people continue to select their personal 'bubbles' for what they believe in, I could see a day when there simply is no such thing as "canon" -- just each individual's 'playlist' for Star Wars (and life) that includes only the truths they prefer. Any other existing "options" will be shunned like an incorrect religion.

The Obi-Wan viewpoint. I like it. Or should we call it the Obi-Gar view point.

I have no memory of Star Wars before ewoks. I never knew it.

It's because we knew of a different Star Wars. Before the PT. Before the SE's. Even before ewoks.

:)

Or before the Holiday special....that was the beginning of the end really...

Just saw this on youtube-

what?....No it's not a Last Jedi hate video, it's this

Relevant bit starting at 7:06. Funny reaction by Ford. Looks younger than he did in TFA incidentally.

Well at least you gave it 5 whole minutes....

:lol
Well, it was a bit more than five minutes... I got all the way to Kylo shooting up his mom, then I just had to turn and look away 'cause I couldn't stand the thought of her doing the Mary Poppins thing... the I watched a bit more on and off.

Well, I'm glad you gave it a shot. I wish you had been able to tolerate some of the stuff you find objectionable so that you could see the strength of the better parts, but it wasn't meant to be.

At least there's this, though:

:yess:

:lol

Yeah, there's indeed some good scenes in there.

I have to disagree with you there. Empire and Jedi blew me away in theatres and everyone I knew back in the day from kids my age to our parents who took us!!

Well you can personally, but its not true over the entire audiences of the time. The two films were widely bashed for "Ruining Star Wars"

So The Last Jedi has finally hit HBO over here...

I tried guys.
I sat down and even rewound the thing on my DVR once I saw it was on.
I'm sorry, I just couldn't get past the first battle. The mama joke, Hux being a complete caricature of a villain, the completely ridiculous chase, Finn naked and leaking... the tone of the movie was just so all over the place, it didn't coalesce into anything.
Which is too bad, because I really liked how Snoke tore down Kylo, that was nicely written and acted. But it wasn't enough.
It broke my heart.

To give you an idea of just how bad it was, I ended up watching Mr. and Mrs. Smith...

I tried guys.

You must have a low tolerance for good movies, no wonder you watched Mr. and Mrs. Smith

Even Rose who accomplished nothing in TLJ ...
Come on thats not even remotely true, she (with the help of DJ, being on the opposite end) helped Finn truly see that there was more in the galaxy than just running away from a fight. He became a true rebel and saw the horrible things being done by the First Order and its supporters. It solidified his being into the resistance and fighting for others instead of running away. Were it not for Rose, he would have no reason to stay with the resistance. He was going to run away and find his only friend- Rey. Meanwhile on Canto Bight, Finn and Rose also managed to inspire and create more allies of the resistance as we see with the children there.

Broom boys unite!

I thought the Star Wars universe had droids for things like sweeping?

Droids are expensive man! Flesh is cheap.....

At least on Tatooine thats the case...
