Dude, I'm not telling anyone not to post videos. You can post whatever you want. But you made a point about TLJ fans getting pissed when YouTube clips get posted here, so I was explaining why that happens. I don't mind addressing criticisms of TLJ; in fact,if you've paid any attention to this thread for the last several months, I've had plenty of back-and-forths with folks here who post their negative criticism. And I like that sort of discussion. But that's the point: actual discussion about our own differing opinions requires actual independent thought. You can't have a discussion with a YouTube video.

What are u talking about? People can have discussions over a YouTube video they have freaking discussions for YouTube vids all the time. Lol what. You just don’t want to see one cause it triggers you from what vault boy and snikt did

What I said was that you can't have a discussion *with* a YouTube video. Not "about" a clip. I meant as in having a back-and-forth with an actual video clip. Trust me, I've tried . . . the clip itself never responds. They tend to be d-bags that way.

My point is that a discussion thread about a movie seems to make more sense if the people who belong to this forum/community have their own discussions (with their own independent thoughts) about the movie. Why does anyone need a YouTube guy to come up with an opinion for them? If someone wants to discuss a YouTube video about a movie, that's fine. But why not discuss the video in the actual YouTube comments section instead?

Discussing YouTube clips in a movie thread would be like having a presidential debate where one candidate addresses the issues by just playing video clips of other people's opinions. Is it really that hard to form and *defend* an independent opinion? Especially about a movie!?

But hey, whatever. If you like having a discussion thread that works like a YouTube channel, knock yourself out. I was just trying to let you know what some of the objections to these clips are all about. No harm meant. I'm good with whatever y'all want to do with this thread; but I'm allowed to prefer actual discussion of the movie instead of discussing what some YouTube person has a gripe with.

Just stating my opinion; I'd post a link to it, but I came up with it on my own.

For the record, I never claimed to hate TLJ. It is my least favorite SW, and I question a lot of the choices that RJ made, but I still find it enjoyable. In fact, I hate when people constantly bash any SW. I posted that video because I thought people would get a good laugh out of it. Even the uploader was just trying to get a laugh. He wasn’t condemning TLJ or those who like it. We can all make fun of the stuff we love, there’s no harm in that.

It’s a harmless little satire video it doesn’t derail the freaking thread. The thread has been “ TLJ was cool” “ yea I know it is cool cause of this reason. Star crunch just added a funny video. Nothing more. It didn’t break up the discussion until people got all upset cause they thought it was a video bashing the movie. Like sheesh relax. Vault boy really got you guys scared of YouTube vids now.

He’s like this threads version of jason

Scared is the wrong work.....

Nauseated, bored, cliche and tiresome describe opinion Youtube videos to me....

Add to those “Top Ten things you....missed, liked , hated etc etc....

YouTube had some great content....its mostly drowned out by the likes of folks similar to Grace.

Recently watched a fantastic behind the scenes show about Return of the Living Dead.....also Flying Heavy Metal by Bruce Dickinson is pretty cool...

Sent from the inside of a giant slug in outer space.....

Lol nah it's an Indian channel and they're catching up to him fast. There's a big panic campaign by people to make sure everyone subscribes to him -- they're putting up billboards in NYC, hacking games and putting messages just to make sure people sub to him.

He's already a multi millionaire, so why the need to make sure he's always on top? The money these dude's make is crazy. Some Asian brat who opens up toys has earned 21 million ffs. :slap :lol

One guy who I used to play with as a kid has over half a million subs, is a multi millionaire, nice model girlfriend, treated as the darling of the media in the UK etc. He's one of those lucky bunch that's always gotten what he wanted. Him and the other kid's used to try and pull my pants down so honestly I can't stand the guy.

But hey at least my mum wasn't a handbag thief. :lol

Oh come on, you've got to name names... We won't tell ;)

Good to see that Hamill seems to finally be understanding the big picture. A year too late to the party, though. What he was saying during the TLJ publicity tour was as unprofessional as I can remember an actor being when "promoting" a SW film (or any huge/blockbuster film). If he'd been more of a pro, and actually thought about what he was saying, I doubt that all these "not my luke" and "Jake Skywalker" takes would've gotten very far. If I were RJ, KK, or an exec at LFL/Disney, I would have been livid at the unprofessional commentary.

Oh well. What's done is done. I do think the Crait scene was as badass as Luke has ever been, so I agree with him there. And more importantly, it was Luke being smarter and more of an *actual Jedi* than he's ever been. It was Luke saving his friends, completely outsmarting and embarrassing the villain, showing total mastery of the Force, and doing it all without compromising his Jedi values one bit. Perfect!

As usual ajp4mgs, yousa point is well said! :duff

Yes, Hamill may have technically been unprofessional, but it was also refreshing to get an insight into the creative tug-of-war behind the scenes, rather than the usual everyone-on-message corporate spin.

Plus he's not on the LFL payroll so he can pretty much say what he likes - they need him more than he needs them.

Lol it wasn’t unprofessional. He didn’t agree with direction and said what he needed to say.

Yeah, because we'd all have loved TLJ if Mark hadn't been so visible frustrated with it :lol

He wasn't unprofessional at all, that movie was diabolical and Star Wars is obviously a huge part of his life, he had difficulty hiding his emotions which is understandable. Compared to how many people might have acted in his position, he seemed fairly dignified and restrained. And he's right about that being a badass image. Doesn't change his overall character ark in that movie however which was disappointing. You could easily argue that he's being a good employee and trying to find silver linings in a bad apple. Hopefully his positivity is due to him knowing (and liking) what's going on with the next movie.

Do you have any idea how many truly crappy and embarrassing movies that respected actors have been in while still managing to avoid saying anything negative about them? Particularly during *promotion*!?

Every actor understands the implied (if not explicit) expectation when promoting a film: you don't have to lie during press junkets and interviews, but you also don't have to divulge your own negative feelings. That kind of thing is so easily avoidable. They're just there to promote the film (and getting paid to do it!).

No one puts a gun to an actor's head forcing him/her to do a certain movie. When they sign the contract, and accept the money, they should understand that means promoting the film no matter what they personally (and subjectively) feel about how things play out in it. After that's done, you can say whatever you want about it.

Hamill isn't the first actor to disagree with a filmmaker's vision. But, they don't take that public during *promotion* for the film! Hamill wouldn't need to praise anything disingenuously, but he should've felt a professional responsibility not to stir the pot unnecessarily either. So yeah, I think it was indeed unprofessional.
