This thread is the craziest thread of all time....we see Finn, in Stormtrooper gear, storming a city.

Phasma calls him a Trooper we see him in trooper armor. We also hear hes been trouble in the past.

Yeah one line and hes a janitor. No wonder so many people gave trouble with ST, thy cannot understand the simplistic plot.

Soldiers are often given different jobs while on active duty. Most real soldier will tell you this .Now, if you believe Finn was actually a janitor....I got nothing for you. He was lying to do anything to get into that base to save Rey. If he had told Han he was a StormTrooper Han would not have done anything for him.

I cannot believe this needs explaining.

I thought he may have been a janitor as a result of some kind of discipline he received as a trooper. That’s what I thought was inferred.

Yeah, like "you're on latrine duty, soldier!" It's their 'when we don't go to battle' job. Keep the ship ****-and-span job.

Be a total waste of man-power to keep these "soldiers" in a large hold doing nothing until there's some 'attack'. They have to be assigned basic 'duties'.

Dude he’s a stormtrooper janitor . Get over it.

Rogue One was a great SW film. I loved Solo except for the douchey L3, but KK needs to go. She is not right for SW.

Crows: that is one fugly avatar you got there.

Well of course...how stupid of me.....

Cause we see stormtroopers with buckets and mops all over Starkiller and The Death Star.

He obviously was in sanitation during his 23 years of training he has been receiving as a cadet and trooper.

Dude says he was a janitor....... so yea. Stormtrooper later who cares. Obviously he went on missions and care back as a janitor .

When he confessed to Rey that he's a Stormtrooper in The Force Awakens, he says that he made a decision during his first battle that he wasn't going to kill for them and he ran, so I'd say he was a janitor/maintenance worker who got promoted to military combat as a Stormtrooper and deserted when he was asked to shoot innocent people on Jakku.

Poor Finn. Even his one claim to fame of being an Imperial deserter has now been taken from him by Solo.

Being fed to "the Beast" >>>>> Reporting to Captain Phasma's division.

Phasma herself is now just a poor man's Enfys Nest.

Who the hell is Phasma...?

That's not even a Star Wars name.

Over Jar-Jar, over Sebulba, over whoever you like, I think Phasma is the worst SW character. Totally wasted. Totally silly -- chrome stormtrooper chick. No skill. No cool weapons. No story. No action scene. Nothing.

Basically JJ thought it would be "cool" to have a silver stormtrooper, and he liked the movie Phantasm. Yeah, good reasons to join the Star Wars ranks. Way to go, Felicity.

I'm lost, why does it matter if Finn was a maintenance worker again?

he was a janitor/maintenance worker who got promoted to military combat as a Stormtrooper and deserted when he was asked to shoot innocent people on Jakku.

I remember it being mentioned somewhere (maybe one of the SW featurettes) that Finn was in a unit trained specifically for melee combat (hence that shock stick they had) and why he was actually proficient enough to fight that other Stormtrooper and Phasma hand to hand. It's also why he at least held some ground against Kylo while using a saber.

That doesn't sound like a predominantly maintenance worker who got promoted to a combat rank. I think this is more probably a case of a soldier with secondary duties in maintenance.

I'm sure he went though combat training, but he says that during his first battle, he made a choice that he wasn't going to kill for the First Order, so he didn't shoot the villagers and ran away. I'm thinking that J.J. Abrams wanted to have a deserter from the First Order as one of his main characters, but he didn't want innocent blood on the character's hands, so he put the story together with Finn escaping before he ever killed anybody for the First Order. He says he was taken by them when he was a small child and before he could remember his parents, so other than combat training and indoctrination, I'm sure he did other work for the First Order for most of his life, which leads me to believe that he was probably in sanitation before he became a full fledged Stormtrooper because he tells Han that he worked in sanitation and he was very familiar with the layout of Starkiller Base from cleaning up all over the base.

Who cares if Finn was a janitor or a stormtrooper? Whatever he did, I think we can all agree that he was sweating profusely while doing it. He could sit on a box in a walk-in freezer and still be dripping sweat.

Colin Trevorrow and Mark Hamill tell Lucasfilm to go **** themselves.

Colin Trevorrow Talks His Star Wars Episode IX Exit

Speaking to Empire, Trevorrow opened up for the first time about his exit from the sci-fi saga, revealing that he told George Lucas and Mark Hamill his story outline for the next chapter, and saying that he’ll ‘cherish’ the experience despite leaving the project.

"I don't want to talk too much about it because I don't want to affect the way that fans get to see these films,” he said. “When we were kids, these movies came to us from far away. They were a gift. And the more we talk about how they're made, the more it reveals that they're just movies. But they're not just movies, they're more than that. Beyond that, I got the opportunity to tell a story that is a celebration of everything I believe in, I got to tell it to George Lucas and I got to tell it to Luke Skywalker, and those are experiences I will cherish for the rest of my life.”
In an earlier Tweet, Colin said this:

The new [JP] trilogy is built for a new generation, but not at the expense of the fandom. Without them we’re nothing...

In a later Tweet Colin says:

My 9-year-old is in the next room editing his 2nd movie, BLOODSTINGER 2. He is aware of the potential hazards of a sequel, but promises the film will add depth and character without compromising the core tenets of a beloved franchise that has existed since April 2018.
Mark Hamill responds:

Please ask Nolan to consider me for a role in BLOODSTINGER 3. That boy is a visionary genius & I value gifted directors. All the best from his unemployed pal, mh

Cause with all there diversity pandering they still manage to make he black guy a janitor. Could of had any other job. Like cutting hair or tending to the guns. Lol
