Does that mean that Rian is or could be a Racist. ..dayuuum!!! Lol....

Haha to be fair that was all JJ. Rians weakness is plot.

the loudest criticism against Johnson is against the fact that he condescended to explain things to adults who couldn't follow an all ages adventure film. Awesome deconstruction there guys, lol. :duff

I like how the same audience had no problem understanding movies like memento or the blade runners or 2001 etc but had problems with this thought provoking masterpiece.

Yes, that’s exactly what was said, good point, very insightful :lol

I wish I was as intelligent as the TLJ lovers so I could understand this film.

Sadly, Johnson's excessive excuses for every valid criticism for this movie only demonstrate to me that not only is he a poor story teller, but he's also insecure about his writing decisions as well.

I don't hate the guy like other people seem to do (I think the "Ruin Johnson" meme is kinda lame) and if I was in charge and wanted to troll, I'd do more extreme things (like make Ben the incestuous **** baby of Luke and Leia), but I don't understand why he feels the need to defend himself from his controversial choices that he's being called out on. Once you make your movie and release it, it's not yours anymore, it's the audience's. You're lucky you got to helm a Star Wars movie (albeit a mediocre one) at all with your tiny *** filmography. Take the criticism mother ****er, Uncle Georgie has for almost 20 years now. Besides, it's not like he doesn't have a legion of nu-males at his disposal to defend him and his little movie. They'll do it for free. :lol

ignored the Knights of Ren *just like JJ Abrams did*

Er, didn't Abrams *invent* them? He has to be at least a little annoyed that Johnson flat-out ignored so many of his setups.

Khev, while I actually agree with you that TLJ is decent (though still not as good as ROTS!) I don't agree with your dismissal/belittling/minimisation of the haters, most of whom (on here at least) have posted logical, well-considered reasons for disliking the film itself.

And big box office doesn't prove the backlash isn't real.

Not too hard when the site shows 10 posts per page...

Doesn't change the fact that the loudest criticism against this movie are against things that didn't even play out on screen or that the loudest criticism against Johnson is against the fact that he condescended to explain things to adults who couldn't follow an all ages adventure film. Awesome deconstruction there guys, lol. :duff

Deconstruction as opposed to your construction of Disney,Kennedy, and your newest fave Rian.....can't believe you or anyone would put this anywhere near BR 2049. As best and second best film...scotch and butterbeer

1. Hate things that didn't happen in TLJ
2. Accuse anyone who calls attention to that fact as being a ******** snowflake who insults people
3. ????
4. Profits

This is rich as as you make up fan fiction for so many things in TLJ, even other users have called you on it.
On top of that you insult/belittle the intelligence of everyone who doesn’t agree constantly, including whole races of people, and many users have called you out on it.
The sad part is there is no profit.

There are SO MANY LEGIT REASONS why TLJ is a POS.....even a cave man can see it.....imagination is so huge for interpretation for some

I've never lumped everyone who disliked this film together though. There's a difference between saying I didn't like the story, the characters, and/or the script vs. accusing the movie either for things that didn't happen or things that the OT did as well. Some people are just excessive whiners who didn't even follow what was spelled out on screen and some are just trolls posting bait (not naming names) while others like you said have posted more logical and valid reasons for being put off to the movie. I wish there were more folks like you to discuss this with, even if its from a position of disagreement.

And TLJ takes place within days of TFA so who knows what the Knights of Ren would have been doing during those one or two days. The opening scroll said the FO was spreading througj the galaxy so they could have been anywhere.

Wow, the modern cliche of calling anyone who disagrees with you a racist. Crazy.

What’s a nu-male?

Shoehorned agenda of all sorts to destroy the old regime of the force which is the essence of Star Wars itself...is a legit reason to despise this film alone all on its own....period....and that is just one legit reason...

Never called you a racist. Making things up.

But those posts where you insulted the intelligence of the Chinese numerous times due to their choice in movies didn’t happen, right?

Wow, the modern cliche of calling anyone who disagrees with you a racist. Just crazy.

Right after drawing a straight line from sweat to cotton fields.

This is why I don’t go to conventions. :lol

“Fans” are scary AF.

I'm not shocked that Rian has to spell out the entire movie at all. When a good portion of your audience can't even fathom why good would oppose evil then yeah, having to explain why he ignored the Knights of Ren *just like JJ Abrams did* is pretty much a given.
I’ve known for years that Star Wars fans can be as dense as a brick.

Just in general. Not a qualm with anyone here or anything.

I simply cannot fathom how someone could possibly believe Palpatine was not only using force suppression (an actual force ability) to hide himself... but also his face. His ****ing face.

Gee willikers... that unstable Sith lightning deflected at point-blank range off of Mace Windu’s lightsaber sure didn’t melt him like butter. Rotten teeth you say? Vocal change? Couldn’t have been the magnified burst of “unlimited power” thrown back in his face that caused all that damage? No. Surely not, because Ian McDiarmid stated something in an interview that we just have to take very nearly literally. We just have to have our silly fan theories, don’t we?

Sorry, that’s how stupid that **** sounds. :lol

In my experience "fans" camp out online while fans (no quotes) go to the conventions and have a good time. The latter are often much more tolerable. ;)

I’m just going to take your word for it.

My one SW “con” experience was a show where Sansweet presented some Special Edition footage before the release in NYC.
The room smelled like sweatpants and urinal cakes. I haven’t looked back.

SW weekends in Disneyworld was pretty cool, though.

Haven't been to one in over ten years...ain't worth it....use to go the the NY conventions...no lines...I waited in back of like 10 people to see Kirby and Lee once...today that line would be miles long....70s even 80s were awesome

Damn, Dolf, you’re even older than me! :duff

Yeah SW Weekends is fun and very casual. And full disclosure on my convention experience I've been to three Celebrations but not a single panel. So I've never done the camping out thing or crammed into a packed room with hundreds of people of questionable hygiene. ;) I just do the autographs, chat with people in those lines and peruse the booths looking at all the cool stuff. And I've always found those interactions to be cool and pleasant.

Ah yes, because making a joke about race after clowns slave joke is the same as implying the Chinese are unintelligent people who would enjoy movies with more explosions and dumb chases just because they don’t like the same movie as me, without factoring in that life is so different there that perhaps they gravitate towards those kinds of films because they want to get away from real life.

I actually agree with this. It was my most hated aspect of that film. *that* is how he gets that face? Some lightning to the face melts it? And that’s what happened, the fan theories about hiding it are just fan fiction.
