Dude I remember "The Deuce " days...NYC started to die for me in early 90s when guliani become mayor and turned NYC to touristy town...give me 60s, 70s, 80s NYC any day...crime was high back then but NYC made you a man, it had grit...42 St today is freaking Disney owned...only positive today is that its safer city...but I don't care, give me the Ole days anytime

I grew up in 80’s Manhattan.

I was already living on my own at 165W 47th street with a broadway writer by 18!

But holy crap those times square and lower Manhattan adventures, how I wasn’t killed is a miracle!!

It's more about the underdog than the dark SW. We all really want to see a dark villain wreaking havoc and the white knight overcome unrelenting odds to succeed....

That's what SW is about....you all know deep inside your closet optimists who long for the lone hero to save the day.....

For me it’s really quite simple.


Just like Hollywood is comprised of 50% Art and 50% Profit living together for mutual advantage so are we.


We are 50% brain 50% heart.


Analytical Brain tells you to hate new SW.


Emotional Heart tells you it’s ok to love new SW


Remember that our connection to our happy safe childhood memories is NOT thru our brains but thru our hearts.


Your brain is for ugly grown up stuff like work, taxes, DMV lines, sex with your wife and yes burying your childood memories with cynicism in an attempt to protect those memories from the ugly truths about adult humanity.


Your heart just wants to rekindle those childhood memories, bring them up to the surface so that you can feel good again, new SW is perfect fuel for that because SW is childhood.


So either you can use all of your impressive brain power to paralyze your heart from ever liking something new again because you don’t want your memories hurt by cruel adults.


Or you can just allow yourself to get stupid excited over new SW again.


That simple.
