I would say he has a get out of jail card sorted - Kennedy and Disney (The Suits) have clearly cut out all the Snoke/Rey backstory as it is not commercially appealing after Rian (The Auteur) left the building. That is why they had the film lock in a couple of months ago, so they could run it by a committee and fix it but in the process they have dumbed it down compared to the rough version that was seen by a few friends of friends in August.
