That’s an incredible post by Hamill.

It can be interpreted a few different ways.

I like it.

Now i’m looking even more forward to milk drinking Luke.

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi SPOILER DISCUSSION THREAD

Perhaps I'm missing something, but doesn't Luke saying that indeed give truth to the title? Especially with it then summarily flashing over to Rey and this proverbial "broom kid" I've read about after Luke saying that? Luke seems to be essentially saying that the Jedi (plural) isn't dying with him, because there is now another (Rey). Perhaps showing this broom kid is meant to be a harbinger that Episode IX will indeed take place some years into the future from TLJ, and that Rey will be the Jedi Master and this broom kid her padawan.

Any plans to see the movie soon, Silverstar? I mean that without any sarcasm. Interested to see what you’ll think.

For me, I’m really loosening up on my hang-up with the Luke direction. After another view, with the shock subsided, I can definitely see how Rian wanted to ‘let the past die’. I think fans will eventually warm up to this movie to be honest. There are some unforgivable sins: casino planet, I’m looking at you, which will always stain this movie, but the main beats will probably come to be seen as a good decision for the plot moving forward. Upping my score to 7/10 after another shot.

Yeah, I'll be seeing it this week. Not sure which day though.

As I mentioned, I could see how it'd be a shock to see a childhood hero go in a different direction the next time you see him or her on the big screen again. However, it's important to remember that some time has passed between RotJ and this new ST, so Luke may have had some experiences in between then and now that caused him to become the way he is now. Perhaps in the slumbering Kylo scene, Luke was again flirting with the Dark Side himself. Doesn't mean you have to agree with that direction, just that it merely is explanatory and plausible. As I've stated, I'm sure I'll probably enjoy the film simply because I like SW as a whole (I'm sure it can't be as soporific as TPM or AotC), and even though I may possibly disagree with the direction of some characters, I still accept that what happens in this ST is what happened in SW lore post the OT.

I always wondered if in RotS when Windu was about to murder Sidious, if he was even flirting with the DS himself as well in that scene.

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi SPOILER DISCUSSION THREAD

I'm not sure if this was answered but how many days did Rey stay on that island Learning while the FO chased the Resistance for 18 hours.

Didn't hurt opening weekend, worldwide it's made over $450 million... Besides that, your statement makes no sense, the longer the movie is at the theater the less people will see (happens with all movies) so they need less theaters to show it in.

I explained this already if you kept up: the same rabid fans who always see these movies opening weekend attended, so the small lower take is due to the running time being longer and less available showings thus, accounting for that, the movie should perform as well as TFA roughly. Which it did when taking the longer running time into account.

It's next weekend and those after that that the damage will begin to be shown. Many fewer people will be seeing this multiple times.

Also, if the movie has a longer running time, but the hours in a day remain the same, then logic dictates that you will lose a showing, maybe two in some areas. That means less revenue over time.

Hope that clarifies my no sense statement for you.

Interstellar showed us time is relative in space travel...

The direction feels like it needed an entire film to explore that point in their past and the progression that would lead up to it. As is, and childhood hero stuff aside, it’s a tough sell with anecdotal flashbacks. This is an instance where the vast amount of time between the OT and the ST plays against the plot. But I’m warming up to the sins of the father yarn they spun, and appreciate that the next movie will be new territory for Star Wars.

I am behind it, da. Surprisingly, it was pretty easy to hack RT.

I just bought 4 extra viewings for TLJ 2nd weekend just to make up for Wor, Snikt, Clown and DiFabio not going again.

Got to ensure a healthy 2nd weekend drop to keep this machine well oiled for the long haul lol

I hope this is the case, but I'm already seeing people online that actually liked this drivel claiming to already have seen it for a fifth and sixth time.

There's always those people.

Liar. :lol

Part of me, the feral Luke part, wishes this would make 3 billion dollars just to burn it all down.

I'm not sure if there's a concrete answer. The visual dictionary says that Ahch-To is a "mystical force" place or whatever and time is different there than everywhere else. I mean, it looks like she was there for at least a few days. Who knows. I'm really hoping that Ep 9 starts with a time skip. Desperately needed IMO
