What if they bought Fox just to get the original Star Wars so they could.... BURN the entire original trilogy print masters!!!!

All that was missing from TLJ was if KK and RJ made Kylo transgender. that's why he's so emotionally confused and conflicted. That would've been the cherry on top of this ***** pie of a movie LMAO!

Here’s an exchange with my nephew who texted me right after seeing the movie. He’s 10. He rarely ever texts me.

‘I just saw the Last Jedi -Sam
Have you seen it?

Yes saw it Saturday
Did you like it?

Yes it was great
I liked Luke’s jokes
Sarcasm am I right😂

I liked chewbacca cooking up some porgs

Are we going to go see it again at Christmas?

Yes!! My dad didn’t see it
Did you wear one of those crazy costumes?

No lol
Old men shouldn’t dress up

True

What was you fav part?

Yoda set the tree on fire

Yoda was a good surprise

Yes it was
What was your fav

I liked the scene with Rey and Kylo and Snoke and the guards
And everything with Luke

That boys head fell OFF

Haha
Yes definitely need to see it again!’

Of course the movie could have been better but this kind of put it in perspective for me.

Rogue One don't look so bad now to some of you, huh?

:)

Fury Road too.

Was there a huge backlash regarding Rogue One?
I took it for what it was, I love Star Wars for the Force/Force users and I knew there would be very little of that in the movie so I just patiently waited for the two Vader scenes and tried to enjoy the ride. At least it completely felt like Star Wars to me, unlike TLJ. Maybe because my expectations were far higher for TLJ.

The um... "children's movie franchise" whose latest installment (TLJ) just so happens to have had close to 2/3's of its opening weekend audience be male (around 60%, varies slightly with reporting site) and over 25 (63%.) The last franchise installment's (RO) overall audience had an average age of 35 and its opening weekend was nearly 70% male, 60% over 25.

Makes the people who create these type of cartoons and similarly mocking articles - and those who "knowingly" chuckle along with them (in that "old guys whining how things use-ta be - he-he-he!" way) - seem so woefully uninformed. As if everything they know in the world comes from their Twitter feed of like-minds.

These audience statistics in turn call into question many of the choices made by Disney/Lucasfilm in this new trilogy - that is supposedly for a "new generation."

One thing is for dead certain: SW/ANH, whose content was responsible for most of what was good about RO, did NOT have an average audience age of 35. THAT film was indeed part of a "children's movie franchise." But to call SW today a children's movie franchise is - factually, based on stats, not someone's mocking opinion - either totally uninformed or a lie.

Here's mine:

Nephew: Did you see The Last Jedi?

Me: Yes. It sucked.

Nephew: You suck! Your old and your going to die soon.

Me: And you'll be stuck with The Last Jedi much longer than I will.

Nephew: *runs crying*

Haha you win.

Yet the Kennedy/Johnson diatribe featuring Finn and Rose about how guns, profits, and animal abuse are bad seemingly went on for hours. I would love to have heard the conversations on the cutting room floor about what stays and goes.

That was so hypocritical saying that people who profit from war are evil while STAR WARS, a story about a never-ending WAR on a galactic scale, is how they are making billions.

Hahaha - very true. And we have a problem with weapons dealers (I always think of the fun ones like in "War Dogs" anyway) but not with the "white slavers" Lucas singled out.:lol

The important question is did any one of us want to hate it... No in fact I'm actually hurt by the film. Indy and Luke were my childhood heroes and seeing what they have done to them is sad. I'm not enjoying the bashing at all, I would rather have had this be a good movie.

Star Wars has always been something for all of us as fans and a community to love, enjoy, and have fun with.

This recent film is so divisive for a reason, it's simply a bad movie and an even more terrible Star Wars film.
