I can't believe that I'm having to defend the movie now (I hate it) but yeah, ANYONE can be a Jedi. That's how it's always been.
The Jedi Order was basically kidnapping kids from random planets, often from very poor people, tribes, etc...

Yes, anyone has the potential to be a Jedi or a Sith, regardless of where they are from, like Luke the farmer in the first SW film, but these new films have people like Rey and the broom boy randomly using Jedi techniques like they're mutants with powers. When Rey was using Jedi mind-tricks people defended it by saying that she was "special" or that her powers were "awaken" when Kylo interacted with her, but broom boy, he's casually moving things. Even Anakin and Luke couldn't do that on their own.

Kennedy right now is reading the backlash and having the episode 9 script changed to include EVERYTHING everyone expected to happen in 8 lol

I bet Luke will even have a lightsaber battle as a ghost against the KOR. :lol

How do we know Luke can't manifest himself back into a physical form? Did you see that **** he pulled on Crait? I'd say it's not out of the question.

Kylo is the reason I enjoyed TFA so much, he and Han at least.

Maybe that's why a lot of OT fans do not like this one, it's Kylo's movie for the most part. He's the most interesting out of all these new characters, so naturally I really liked the time we got to spend with him. That whole throne room scene is probably one of my favorite moments in all of Star Wars. That, a long with lightspeed suicide, and that epic Luke scene/reveal on Crait.

I kinda liked Kylo in TFA, not in TLJ, probably because I didn't like the movie overall. Otherwise I'm sure he would have been more tolerable.

That being said, the throne room scene was indeed one of my favorites ever, because I was most likely in the top 5% of people looking forward to any Snoke content. I really ****ing hate that they killed him.
And yeah the lightspeed suicide was breathtaking as well, although like someone said, weaponizing lightspeed creates plot holes all over the place, just like the Yoda Force ghost.

Snoke explains this.

"Darkness rises, and light to meet it."

The force is balancing itself out, Kylo kills all the padawans and turns a dozen of them to the dark side, that's not balance. So the force chooses Rey to keep things balanced. Rey is literally the manifestation of the force itself.

Yes that I totally agree with. The way they treat Force abilities/training compared to the "old" canon is a major issue.
All Anakin was able to do as a child was enhance his reflexes for pod racing, but now untrained Force sensitives can do advanced stuff out of nowhere.

I can't see them weaponizing it anytime soon, I just think it was a cool moment I was not expecting.

Have you only seen it once? I recommend watching it again just to pick up some of the things with Kylo. Such a well written character, well acted too.

You do know that you’re debating with a person who hasn’t even watched the movie yet right. :lol

I know it's easy to say but... Not good enough. It's never worked like that. I am all for new content but they did a poor job introducing this concept, at least as far as I am concerned.

She’s probably like “Christ just give Snikt his ****ing vampire i’m tired of his damn emails every day.”

It doesn't matter what they do, the movie will be cried, tantrummed and ranted over no matter what happens in it.

I have come to believe that Star Wars fans are just (mostly) spoiled brats.

Too similar, too different!
Rey has to be a fresh character not related to anybody, Rey has to be a Skywalker!
Make up your minds, people!

We're not spoiled brats, the majority of us don't know what we want so we ***** when they give us anything. :lol

"I want star wars!"

Disney: Ok here's a new one!

That wasn't star wars!

Lol... why not, F it. include vampires in SW. To make certain they get the full experience, I hope the count sparkles in day light, the porgs are mini werewolves and Luke returns in the Van Helsing role.

It’s gotta be better than this garbage, right?

So much Internet hatred, the audience applauded at the end of my showing.

They probably felt so silly later when they went home and found out they were supposed to hate it.

You're not supposed to hate bad movies. It's just the rational thing to do.
