I think it was a mistake to take Lucas out of the role that actually suits him best: storyteller.

Director, no. Writer, no way. But he knows story structure and he knows what tall tales from history to borrow from and build upon to create a modern myth.

His guidance couldn't make things worse at this point.

At least you had two formidable opponents facing off with each other in the Obi/Anakin battle. The rey kylo/red guard battle was not a fair fight to begin with and it also looked like a choreographed dance routine just without twirling lightsabers. If they had twirling lightsabers it would have been better since it would have been a fair fight, but this one was over before it started. They also made Kylo look weaker than he did in force awakens.. He couldn’t best an untrained rey with a saber in TFA nor could he beat Snokes red lackey’s with his far superior weaponry (lightsaber>then weapons from Middle Ages). He also needed Rey to save him, yet we are supposed to believe he is a valid threat in the next film even though it’s been shown that rey is more powerful than he is. Like really what is there to look forward too now. Kylo facing rey and losing again in ep9… I cannot wait to pay money to see what I already know is going to happen

Absolutely agree ROTS was amazing with the saber, puts these disney **** movies to shame. Who can argue this new crap star wars to ROTS the best dark powerful evil *** film. They were masters with the force, where as Rey and Ren just twirl the sabers not anakin and obi looked like they had years of training and it showed in the movie. Shut this ***** up who said that **** about ROTS. ****ing *****, just a joke that he can even say that or she if it is a girl. But thank you for shutting him or her up!!

PT needed a lot more Kasdan and TFA needed a little bit of Lucas.

For me I think the PT feel more like SW films then these new movies.. And none of the same OT actors are in it (minus the Emperor)

Granted they are poorly acted films with a lot of bad FX but they still have that SW feel. I have to attribute that to Lucas.

New films are missing something.. I don;t know what.. They are better made films then the PT but feel less like SW movies.

I always attributed the lack of imagination to the world building for TFA not feeling like SW but the new one misses a bit also.. But TLJ is closer to SW feel then TFA.

I have to assume its the lack of Lucas... Except RO feels like a SW film also.. But how could it not?

But I don;t want to come across as defending the PT. They are loaded with their own issues


For the record.. Darth Vader's "Nooooooooooooooo" is worse then anything that is in TFA and TLJ.

ROTS is my favorite star wars to date. Kylo can't even swing a light saber. He swings it like a bat. If you saw ROTS you see how they swing a saber amazing and the power and darkness. Lucas made an amazingly dark movie and powerful with a great soundtrack. Your comment just goes to show how ignorant you are. I bet your a Millennial. Disney made two stupidly idiotic movies that had so many plot holes and boring *** movies. ROTS had action sick battles through out and I felt transformed to a different place only star wars can. The pple ranting about the prequels need to get their head out of their *****. I will take the first two prequels over these two Disney travesties. Rots gave me chills through out the whole movie, yes some of the dialog was awful but I was entertained through out the movie. I don't even want to argue the prequels with these two **** movies. We had amazing characters though out star wars. The disney movies every character that is new is forgettable period. I never thought I would fall asleep in a star wars movie well I did twice.

ROTS is my favorite of the PT movie btw.

OK AOTC feels the least like SW.. But I really feel that TPM feels the most like SW out of the PT and TLJ and TFA.

I think it has to do with the fact that the Emperor was the most Emperor like in that film... Maul being bad *** and John Williams still caring about the score..

Strangely, for me, RO feels more like a "Star Wars" movie than the PT did. I really can't put my finger on it.

But Lucas made much better bad guys... well, when he tried anyway and didn't just copy (Jango) or get lazy (Count Dracu... I mean Dooku).

I just don't understand pple that talk **** on a great movie I admit the dialog wasn't the best but the movie was. Had a great ending to star wars. Disney just started something they can not handle. Anyways, I apologize for the comment. But seriously Anakin and Obi knew how to fight and weld a saber. However, Ren and Rey swing it like a bat. One trained who can't kill a thing and another who isn't trained who seems to kill everyone. Just a joke. Anyways, bud no hard feelings!!

I will admit that the scores for the PT are freaking spectacular but thankfully TLJ improved from TFA on that front.

Sound design in the PT also stellar.

But I can’t JAWS I just can’t handle anything with the Gungans and little Annie I just can’t JAWS so very sorry my bad hombre.
