Oh no bro I wasn't talking to you, it was that other dude who was trying to rag on the Anakin Obi battle, where as Rey and Ren are the most unforgettable characters ever. I apologize if you think I was talking about you bud. I agree they could have done better, but they killed it with the battles and darkness. Like I said the Dialog wasn't the best but this was by far the darkest most entertaining of the star wars universe. I just hate boring *** movies, and Disney knows how to make those type of movies. Plus I hate comic movies and Disney is always putting one out probably 2-3 a year. Same plot same crap!!! Only comic movie I ever like was the dark knight, Heath was such a bad *** character I have him tatted on me!! Well his character the joker. Anyways, Jaws happy holidays bud. I don't mean to offend anyone!!

WTF....where is my happy holiday. :monkey2

Don;t worry my friend I know you were talking to Jye.. I was just commenting also.. You are among friends here. Just go with the flow and have fun.

That guy tounge is not normal..maybe on Disney payroll. He even wanted to charge George Lucas with crime for the creation of Prequels and praised this abomination.

Dont even waste your time with him.

Oh thanks for the heads up dawg!!! Have a great holiday week!!

Bah.. Cinemascore

The Phantom Menace A-
ATOC A-
Revenge of the Sith A-

Seems like you would not put too much sock in Cinemascore. I think Rotten Tomatoes user score is more accurate.

Hell Spider-Man 3 got a B+

Agree 100%

That's not true though. It has a lot of cameos -- but honestly those targeted nostalgia bits are far less screen time than the PT (Vader, Obi-Wan, R2, 3PO, Alderaan dad, etc) or the ST (Luke, Leia, Han, R2, 3PO, etc). They are just really ANH specific, so its seems like a nostalgic crutch, granted the end dovetails into the movie that its a lead-up to.

You're doing an inventory of furniture while ignoring the wallpaper and the drapes.

Classic straight-from-the-OT design Star Destroyers, X-Wings, TIE fighters, Death Star, Blockade Runner, Rebel uniforms, Imperial uniforms, droids - all right out of ANH, right down to the Death Star Droid (multiple cameos.)

Nothing targeted about that. That's the comfort food that made RO a nostalgic feast. RO is set INSIDE ANH - and after seeing TLJ and the fears I have about Solo, I really hope we're heading to an ESB "hard prequel" set in the week before battle of Hoth. Because RO is the blueprint I want to see Disney follow.

So in short JAWS I've won you over on TLJ, lol. Obviously we can agree to disagree on most points but to indulge your question as to Luke's arc I found him to be right back in a classic Joseph Campbell Hero's Journey, with the distinct contrast that much of his journey was internal in TLJ compared to external in the OT. But almost every single step (Ordinary World, Call to Arms, Refusal of the Call, Meeting the Mentor, Crossing the Threshold, Ordeal, The Road Back, Resurrection, etc.) could practically be blu-ray chapter titles describing every one of Luke's scenes. Great stuff IMO that......I'll just concede was lost on you and leave it at that. :D

Slowest most non exciting chase ever...

LOL! Oh come on, even you must admit that the excitement of watching Leia's ship inch through space just out of range of the FO had at *least* as many thrills and spectacle of Fury Road. :D

Not sure I get your Pro Choice comment..

I did not see any Trump or Hillary moment there..

Just calling out the fact that I saw the "political messaging" as a wash and not worth either side getting worked up over.

Also.. Since when do these ships need a pilot?? There is no auto pilot? (we have seen it with the Falcon no?) No Droids to drive the ship?? Seems like even in a heroic death she was stupid.

Who thinks about autopilot or droids in a moment like that? She was watching the last few transports vaporize before her eyes man. You don't abandon your post to try and track down some wayward droid with piloting skills wandering the halls of that gargantuan ship, come on now. ;)

But as always Khev it was a great read and I wish I saw the film you did.. You make great points just ones that I have a very different opinion on.

The dark side is too strong in me :lol

I trust that you'll have a reverse "Skull Island" and once again realize just how wrong your first impression of a movie was. But I won't judge. ;)

:gun

EDIT: Shoot you had a quote where you mentioned that the entire point of the Casino planet was to preach to the audience that simply being rich was "evil" and now I can't find it. Needless to say I didn't get that at ALL. :dunno

I thought he went a little too far with his complaints

I liked this one..

I was surprised to see a fairly negative review from him, plus he used to be part of Collider until recently.

One of the few big SW fans on YouTube who had real issues with the movie. Even super specialized channels like Star Wars Explained and Stupendous Wave (such a weird name) loved the movie.

If Luke went forward in time and met Gefreiter Hitler, would he have killed him, or would he have tried to save him from being caught in the mustard gas in an attempt to prevent him from turning to the dark side?

Either way another 'Kylo' would rise to take his place and reassert balance.

It's a never ending cycle, so I see why he exiled himself, and was living out his last years as a hermit.

Has anyone taken a count of just how many reviewers there are on the internet?

Part of me thinks that everyone should have an opinion.... the other half thinks there's so many opinions that anyone can find an opinion that suits their own, so no opinion matters.

It's kind of like Broom Boy.

In episode 9 they should give the porgs a break and instead have Chewy grill up RJ and eat him while KK watches in full horror :horror

I guess that's true. I always think of the unique RO aspects. But much was based on an existing time/universe. Still, to me it was the way it was shot, the pacing, and the overall story structure that really parallels ANH/ESB time period Star Wars movie making.

That first line is well put.

Obviously it was lost on me.... Too bad it was not done better so that it was not :lol

Personally I just was not that invested in his arc.. It really did not do much for the story as a whole.

My other point was the fact that you seemed to insinuate that Luke was selfish or a glory hound in the OT.. Just not the case IMO

I would not call it a wash.. Not even close.. There was one side getting the press.. But again its Hollywood.. I tend to accept it.. Just do a better job with it.

Leaders who don;t spend time giggling about who gets to say "May the Force be with you" when there is an Evacuation Thats who. :lol

TLJ = Skull Island

Its the fact that when she says "They are the worst people in the Universe" then a quick shot to rich people on a Barge.. Then Rich people in a Casino.. It took a bit to see that they abused animals, kept slaves, and made weapons for the war.. The initial reveal was to play on "Rich = Evil" narrative.
