RO interest enough to get me spent nearly $500 on Hot Toys 1/6 death trooper and shoretrooper, and been planning for another death trooper and Krennic - that would be nearly $400+... and I believe many freaks here are the same and willing to spend even more to complete collect RO line. That is a sign of "succesful SW film".

But those Sequels ? Even if I got any of those figures for free..would just either sell or get rid of it by any means ..dont want those abominations any near :monkey4.

Every under 20 yr old friend of my kids say its great...I told em flat out what I thought....didn't care who was around or who heard me...these kids today get shocked easily....last thing I said to em before I left the party was "Eating my sheet > TLJ" ...and the other guy as I was walking out the door..."kid,you getting your f k n grandmother pregnant is better than TLJ"....they cant handle old school

Well, they're under 20. What do you expect?

"Kids suck." - Mama Fratelli, 1985.

I trained some new fire recruits (20ish years old) a few years ago and during lunch they all started talking Star Wars and they all thought the OT was crap. Pretty much said the same things about all 3 movies the same way everyone here i talking about TLJ. To them the PT was Star Wars not Luke, Leia or Han. I did not say anything but i was shocked. They did work harder that afternoon :lol

All the AA and NA guys that saw this film went back to boozing and drugs....."Hi my name is Khevin Its been 60 days since I last had a drink and 257 days since I saw TLJ and 2 days since talking to Adolfo"

If Moses had to do it again the 11th commandment would be "Thou shall not ever watch TLJ"

The only way I believe now that this could be saved is with another Palpatine type ...While Peter pan children fly he infiltrates and eventually does what he does...sounds PT but I would take that in a heartbeat if done well...

I can kind of understand them, because I feel similarly about Terminator 2. I saw it before the original, so to me that was my Terminator. Now, I wouldn't go as far as to say T1 is crap, but as much as I like it, T2 is my favorite.

In a way, those kids you were training are probably more objective about the OT than most SW fans who grew up watching the OT, yet those same kids are probably less objective about the PT, because it's what they saw as kids.

I didn't notice that Snoke fell off his chair twice after death.

(Of course, some of the following has been debunked/explained by the Visual Dictionary):

Character error

When Poe first meets Vice Admiral Holdo, he still calls himself "Commander" even though he had been just demoted.

When Finn is trying to board the escape pod he places his bag in front of the pod when Rose stuns him into the escape pod his bag is inside.

When Luke was being shot at by the AT-M6 walkers on the salty planet, the ground was scorched and had a blast radius sort of look. When Kylo Ren shows up the kill Luke the ground is back to normal.

In the first shot of the scene where Luke talks to R2D2 on the Millennium Falcon, R2D2's head turns towards Luke and in the next reverse shot it is still facing away and then turns around again.

On the way toward the opening bombing run, Poe's helmet mic is extended straight out. In mid-sentence, the camera cuts to the opposite side of his face and the the mic has been re-positioned 90-degrees now properly located under his chin.

At some point, Rey cries and tears are running down her face. The line of her left tear disappears and reappears between the shots.

In one of the first scenes Finn is talking to Admiral Ackbar and they're facing the window, while in the next cut Admiral Ackbar is facing another side.

When the fathiers stampede out the stable, a guard rushes into the corner of the room near a pipe. In the next shot the guard is no longer there.

At one point in the red room the curtain opens, so Rey can look outside. Some shots later, there is no gap anymore.

Miscellaneous

During the battle in space, the projectiles shot from the cannons are seen to have ballistic trajectories. In the absence of gravity, a projectile shot in space would follow a straight line.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs

In the opening sequence the bombers are going to throw bombs on an enemy ship. Since they are in space this won't work. Bombs don't fall down in space. They would need some kind of fire device to fire them down. Every ship, on both sides, has a device for creating artificial gravity ; which would push the bombs "down" through the bomber, and pull them "down" onto the target. In addition, it's possible the bombs have some kind of magnetic properties that would attract them to their target.

During the slo-mo chase scene, the imperial forces could have jumped out and back in front of the rebels at any time considering they did not have fuel issues. However, to jump to hyperspace the ship would need to accelerate to faster than light speed (approximately 300,000,000m/s). The distance required to do this would have smashed the first order ship into the resistance's ship, destroying both.

At the beginning of the film during the bombing sequence, a character is seen inside her ship with the doors open to allow the bombs to be dropped out of the ship. She does not have any kind of oxygen mask or supply, despite this sequence being set in space. However, all through the Star Wars universe, there are openings into space that do not affect a ships atmosphere. We see this in a New Hope in the Death Star hangar bays and in The Force Awakens when Po and Finn steal the TIE Fighter. A thin magnetic shield is employed which allows solid matter, but not gas to pass through it.

Plot holes

Finn drags an unconscious Rose a great distance from the cannon they were attacking back to the mine entrance. How did he manage to drag her that distance without being captured or killed? They were surrounded by Imperial walkers and at least one enemy ship.

A major plot point is made of the fact that the First Order can track Resistance ships while they are in hyperspace, without the aid of a tracking beacon. This is treated as a new occurrence, but it completely ignores what was established in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. In Rogue One, Tantive IV jumps into hyperspace, leaving Darth Vader behind. Vader then presumably returned to his star destroyer before resuming the chase. Since Vader ambushed Tantive IV over Tatooine in Star Wars: A New Hope, it is clear that he tracked the ship through hyperspace. In Star Wars: A New Hope, the Empire tracked the Millennium Falcon through hyperspace after Vader and Tarkin discussed having placed a homing beacon on board that ship.

During the slow-mo chase, the rebel lost 2 or 3 support ships that ran out of fuel. It is established that the fuel for sub-light engines vs light-speed engines is separate. So why didn't they send all the support ships at the star destroyers at light speed to destroy them. The last person on board was going to die anyhow. Or why didn't the last capital ship head to the same planet to cover the shuttle retreat, there by lending cover to the shuttles?

The rebels are caught in the mine, which has no other exit. So what do they do: they *somehow* go outside and fight the first order. Then afterwards they're back inside, again trapped. How do they go out and inside if there is no exit? Moreover, once they're outside, fighting, why would you ever want to go back inside that trap with no exit? This is just unbelievable lazy script-writing.

Spoilers

The goof items below may give away important plot points.

Continuity

The second time they are meeting in the red room of Supreme Leader Snoke, you can see two black clothed, kind of technicians in the background. Altough we always saw the door and they did not leave, they suddenly disappeared.
24 of 45 found this interesting | Share this

When Snoke is split in half, his lower body falls to the floor, then when General Hux shows up later , Snoke's bottom half slips to the floor a second time.

When the trigger is falling, Paige is on her back. When she catches it, she is lying on her belly so she must have turned around within less than a second, which is impossible.

When Kylo Ren kills the last red guard, the right hand of the guard opens. In the next shot, his right hand is closed to a fist again.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs

When Rey wants to hear the real truth from Luke of what has happened to Kylo and him you can see the rain pouring down. But when Rey leaves Luke's planet one shot later, it is not raining anymore and Luke and his clothes have become dry in just a few seconds. However, we know that more than a few seconds has passed because we know it takes a while to climb down to the Falcon and we also know that Rey took the Ancient Jedi texts with her.

Plot holes

Finn and Rose crash right in front of the battering ram cannon, which is shown to be heavily guarded. The enemy forces are under a "no prisoners" order. How were the heroes able to traverse the great distance back the mine's entrance without being attacked?
