What were the different parts that worked for you? To me the main different thing was what I found to be bad humor that departed from the hero to hero humor of the past. The casino scene seemed like something out of a Rebels episode or the prequels.

The only different things that stood out to me were the hyperspace kamikaze, the astral projection (to an extent this just seems like a more advanced version of Yoda’s Vader trick in the cave, but Yoda was able to make Vader interact with Luke), and the hyperspace tracking.

Hyperspace tracking was actually referenced in R1 when Jyn and Cassian were looking for the Death Star specs....not “really” new.

The differences I’m referring to is the force...new abilities, new users etc. I wasn’t offended as some.

Did I think flying Leia and Luke’s milking scene was a bit much absolutely.

Luke attitude, tossing away the lightsaber, projection etc no.

Yoda lightning meh but his appearance and conversation no.

Snoke no...we knew nothing of the emperor at time of the original films belond holder of Vader’s leash.

Kylo and Rey...the mind linking was meh but no issues elsewhere.

Finn and Rose arc was pointless and almost everything about it.

Poe is actually being groomed to lead the rebellion so not many issues with his arc

And I have to wonder how Kylo will process Luke's powers post-TLJ. After hero worshipping Vader and fearing he'll never be as powerful as the Dark Lord how will he digest the awareness thst Luke displayed powers that exceeded Palpatine, Vader, AND Snoke put together?

He did??? Just by projecting himself??

Hmmmm I did not take it that way at all. Its not like he did anything all that powerful while he was there.. Apparently he couldn't since he was just a projection..

Not saying you are wrong.. You just got more out of a hologram then I did ;)

Star Wars is dead..the Force is dead,Sith are dead, Jedi are dead, the past is dead,....oh wait No its not,...its undergoing change like a caterpillar turning into a cocoon, and then a beautiful butterfly....Star Wars episode Nein, metamorphosis. ...where every broomstick could be a nimbus 2000 or Firebolt....every child has a right to an education, Er oops I mean force....all have the right to entitlement force...Star Wars is dead

Not just a hologram. He deflected Kylo's blows so he could interact with his environment. If Luke didn't die then he basically would have been all powerful, capable of entering any base or ship and killing whomever he liked.

Exactly...I didn't get that at all....to me its a snikt type of theory now

Again how the hell do you get that conclusion? I don't see it at all in those events

I don't think he deflected anything.. He dodged all of Kylo;s blows.

Are you sure? Their blades didn't once connect? His hand didn't touch Leia's? Now I have to make note on a second viewing to see if I'm right or if they pulled a Bruce Willis in The Sixth Sense, lol.

You see what you wanna see

I have the movie on my computer. He didn't deflect ****. He just dodged.

Also, if he had indeed been able to deflect, there is a simple solution regarding the 'all powerful' issue: don't make him have that power to begin with. There. You don't have to kill him now :lol (at least not this way, after a freaking Force hologram)

Pretty sure..

Now you have to admit this film SUCKED ;) ;)

:lol

:lol

Well I'll have to make note on a second viewing but if he was just an audio/visual projection who couldn't physically interact then that does make his abilities more ambiguous. Still more powerful than any Force user we've seen on film. You know that if Palpatine or Vader could just appear anywhere they would have. And since Vader apparently only needed visual reference to Force choke Admiral Ozzel without needing to physically be in the same room then it stands to reason that a more powerful Luke could do the same through astral projection so my point still stands and his arc is intact. ;)

The Director claims that Luke never touches Leia.. I have no clue about that one. It seems like they did but if I am going to say that the director did not have a political agenda because he says so then I have to agree with him here also.

But yeah.. Kylo and Luke have no contact at all.

Again it was just a lead up to nothing.

Hey if making up your own story to supplant this one is what helps you enjoy TLJ.. THen more power to you ;)

I have been telling Khev that I wished I saw the same film he did :lol

Translation...I wish I was smoking the same stuff as Khev to improve the film experience...if Johnson saw those recent Khevs posts of interpretation he would say"Really, Damn? Gotta show Kennedy I'm a genius again!" lol

You are right about Luke's hand touching Leia though. He also gave her a nice dice keychain :lol

Maybe by the time he faces Kylo, his battery was running out.
