Well we'll just have to disagree on that then. I think it's too bad if you think it was nothing but a cheap surprise like Stark's remote suit in IM3 but I think that part of the reason that Johnson killed Luke was because he knew that such insane abilities would pretty much destroy any further military challenges that the Resistance faced.

Unless he had kept Snoke alive as well (probably would have needed a way to rejuvenate him a bit, his power was enough to dominate Kylo despite his physical weakness, but against Luke that would have been a major issue).

Jesus . . .

It boggles my mind that there are people out there that actually loved a Just For Men dye wearing, Chuck Norris/Billy Mays looking Jake Skywalker doing those anime tier dodges, while in reality, he wasn't even there. Instead, he was crying and having a heart attack on a ****ing rock. Boggles the mind that people would consider this good or even epic.

It's got to be an IQ thing, that's the only explanation. I just dropped a good friend because he decided to go on a rant about how great TLJ and how I'm missing out by not liking it. All I did was wish him a happy holiday and ask how he was doing and he decided to go full shill about what a masterpiece it is and how I'm "missing it". Mind you, this guy hated TLJ opening day. He saw it 6 more times to convince himself and took to Twitter and snapchat to express his undying love for it. I thought he was ****ing with me until he just kept going on and on about it. It's just bizarre. It's funny, I didn't mind all the 2016 election BS where both sides were at each other's throats 24/7 when it came to their political ideologies. I kept to myself and didn't lose any family or friends. But this movie, holy hell, it feels like I'm about to be surrounded and swarmed by mouthbreathing cretins! :lol

The people that I find most hilarious are those that hate the prequels with a passion and can't find any good in them, and yet, they somehow love TLJ. It's just completely absurd to me. Luke and Leia acting like literal superheroes are cool, but Palpatine and Yoda spinning around like idiots is a travesty! Last Jedi is filled with so many kidified, cringey moments (most of which are done with bad jokes and awful looking CGI characters) that it reminded me of everything I hated about the Special Editions and Prequels. I just don't get it.

I don't even think I can be considered a "Star Wars fan" anymore. Out of like 9 movies, I only really love 2 to 3 of them. The fans irritate me, their theories between every release irritate me, the cosplayer s annoy me, the crappy merchandise irritates me, all these articles and YouTube videos about it irritate me. I just don't get it. I'll always have my love for it from the classic things that resonated with me when I was a kid, but a part of me wishes this whole "Star Wars phenomenon" died by the end of the 80s. It's an awful franchise.

And that's the problem.

:lol :lol :lol :lol

You better not dump me i’m a stalker and will boil your rabbit dammit lol

I can’t give Broom kid crap and then give a pass to those brats during the Logan climatic battle.

Sure X23 was a cool character but that was the only good kid character in Logan.

Those kids in Logan nearly derailed the incredible first 2 acts so much so that I didn’t even feel anything during Logan’s death on first viewing.

Mr. grumpy frumpy lol

See what happens to me when Khev the one man SW calvary shows up I plump right up don’t I :lol

Yoda really is into lightning. First he absorbed Dooku's, then reflected Sidious's, then the tree thing :lol

It was left over from Dooku's. ..he put it in his pocket, forgot about it for 60 years...lol...just happened to find it

Lol, true enough. But who knows what rules those pesky ghosts have to follow. Luke still tops all living characters. :)

They better find a reason as to why the ghosts don't attack the FO with lightning.

The only thing I can think of is the location of the jedi temple and tree. Perhaps that's a place where the "force" is strong, and that allowed Yoda and Luke to project and interact with physical objects?

Seriously! I too felt little watching Logan die and still haven't watched it a second time on account of the idiocy of the final act. TLJ wisely used up it's idiocy long before the epic finale, lol.

Yes I'd be fine with that, but they better explain it properly. Because Yoda hitting Luke on the head with his ghost cane was already too much.

That's the problem with these movies, for example they explain in a book why the bombs could be dropped in space, but it's in a book.
Of course you can just assume that they have the technology to make it work, alright no problem. But when it comes to the Force? You can't just assume, it's not real so you need the proper canon lore to go with it so that you can make sense of it. Stuff like that should be in the movies. Removing the Canto Bight stuff could have freed up a lot of screen time.

This is why I like Clown he destroys with a purpose always on a journey to find logic.

Grizzly Adams Just for Men hair coloring Luke > Grass manipulation fat kid

If Luke was just a projection, how did Leia hold the dice? Wouldn't the dice fall threw her hand or did Luke die straining to hold the dice in a realistic position. Ddint Kylo pick them up? So the dice were real but luke was fake?

Yes, that's as much as we know for now. And yes, it makes no sense. Especially the dice still being there when Kylo enters the room.

That was really gratuitous, just to give him and Han a 'moment'.

Can it be seen as some of Luke's remaining Force aura? I guess, if you really want to turn it into a positive.

I honestly cannot understand the love for Logan. Imagine if Unforgiven ended with a bunch of fat kids running through the desert and then Gene Hackman being killed by a cactus, lol.

Maybe only force sensitive people can interact as ghosts or projections. It's the only thing they all have in common.

But only force powered people interacted with the dice.

That might explain why Luke and Leia can touch each other.

For me the first 2 acts are TDK levels of amazing and the 3rd act is TDKR levels of lame lol

Funny enough Logan is a depressing journey of a group of previous heroes that has been reduced down to the main 2 heroes and a man at the core of that institution giving up and literally trying to escape to an island to die until Professor X who is his all powerful mentor inspires him to go out on a bang to save a YOUNG GIRL who has Logan’s powers and also save a resistance group to fight another day.

Professor X even killed his own super team just like the Jedi religion failed its own kind.

The mutant kids and force grass **** in Logan was bad. You and I ripped that a lot. But Logan himself? Way better than the way Luke was handled.

It's actually pretty funny. Luke's fake Just for Men hair/Cuck Norris/Billy Mays astral projection of himself is kinda like Logan's clone, except Logan's clone was actually cool.

The stupid theories people had about there being a "good" light Luke and a "bad" dark Luke based on those lame posters actually sounds better than this whole ridiculous hologram thing they ended up going with. I just don't get how people like it.

And can we talk about the CGI? For the past decade, there's been nothing but bitching about CGI characters and green screens and "MUH practical" models. I have yet to see a single person on here that ripped CGI from other movies say anything negative about this one. Every year, Disney puts out a melodramatic, tacky, "making of" featurette for the next movie. They've done this for Awakens, Rogue One, And Last Jedi and will no doubt do it again with Solo. Each one has the same talking points. "THIS IS PRACTICAL", "HAND MADE", "REAL". These ideas are so absorbed into people's heads that some neck beard dressed as a generic Sith Lord at my showing was hyping up the "real, animatronic crystal foxes dood!".

Come time for the actual movie? Silly, gun toting commando Maz Kanata. Goofy looking AT-AT's with angry eyes. All those stupid CGI Canto Bight casino alien patrons and animals. The horse things. The ****ing Porgs. The "animatronic" crystal foxes. The computer double for super Leia. That whole awful looking environment where Not-Luke and Kylo are dueling. You could tell the entire environment was a green screen sound stage. Hell, even Snoke's headquarters looked like a green or blue screen set, but instead of using blue and green, they used red. There are actually people that have said that this is the "most visually stunning Star Wars film to date".

Snoke impressed me and the space dog fights in these Disney movies always continue to be a positive, but the rest? It looked like generic ****. Even the practical things like those stupid little island caretakers looked like crap. Who are they kidding here?

Seen TLJ for a third time (going again Saturday at the MN Zoo Imax [emoji16]) and I think I can safely give it an 8/10. I not only like but LOVE this film. It is the first SW film in so long that truly does expand the mysticism of The Force, which is something I have wanted to see since the prequels. Perhaps since Luke ended the Jedi Order the Light side is allowed to morph into something we have never seen before, fulfilling the prophesy of the Chosen One? The Sith and the Jedi both had to die for the prophesy to come true? We know the Force exists in everybody and between all living things, now that the age old conflict between the Sith and the Jedi is done, the Force is almost allowed to change and morph into something else to truly make balance? I don’t know, I’m a little hung over and can’t fully explain myself, just love that this film is truly world building and making the story go into places we haven’t seen and adding more mysticism to this story.

Except that is all he did through the whole film. Just Gotcha moments.. Like Starks Suit..

You can think that is why he killed Luke.. And perhaps JJ will read this and think you have found a great explanation to all of this and put it in his next movie... But there is nothing on screen or in the story that that would lead me to believe that that is hat the director was thinking.. Yoda's lightning is proof of that...

Last I knew he killed Luke because we had to let go of our past hero's.. Nothing more.. Nothing less.. Just a story convenience.

You may be right or you may be wrong.. We don't know because there is no answer.. We know that Yoda can strike down Jedi temples as a Ghost but as you said we don't know the "rules"... We thought we did but Johnson seems to be just writing things that seem cool to him at the time with no real thoughts about the other films.

Your theory is just that.. A theory.. Just like all the TFA theories.. But who the hell knows. You could be right.. My guess they don't touch on what Luke could and could not do as a hologram... And frankly that is something I don't even care about as its not all that interesting.

:lol :lol :lol :lol

While the ending of Logan is the weak point of a great film.. At least it had a great film to be the weak point of.. Besides, Logan's beginning, middle, and end is far more interesting and better then anything on TLJ..

Sure the kids were not that interesting at the end.. But its not like they were a bunch of Jake Lloyds running around.. And at least Logan did something at the end and it felt like he died for something.. I am still not sure Luke really accomplished anything that could not have been accomplished by someone else in TLJ.

Hey lets spend 2 films finding Luke so he can be a Hologram for 3 mins and help us escape (form a situation they never should have been) If Lara Dern's character not been so inept at leading then Luke would not have even been needed and he could have went on a died anyways..

Man this film is stupid :lol
