So your entire thesis is that George Lucas has been openly lying for about two decades about the reason for the delay and that if he only had the toy rights that he wanted back in the day that after ROTJ he would have immediately jumped into the PT and in 1987 or 1988 we would have gotten The Phantom Menace with "Willow" era visual effects? Get real.

I said from the beginning that I was basing the toy line royalty checks timeline off that Netflix documentary. They said that after 1985 Kenner stopped sending Lucas the checks and so I incorrectly guessed "late 80's" as the year they stopped which apparently was proven wrong by whatever article you linked (assuming it was correct.) But so what. The basis for my argument was always George's own words so chill out. Sheesh, lol.

That's not what they said in the documentary. The documentary explicitly states that the payments to Lucas kept up until the 90's after Hasbro bought Kenner. The documentary also explicitly claims that it was likely more than coincidence that George announced the prequel trilogy right after regaining the licensing rights.

See, this is why you like The Last Jedi. You need to pay attention when you watch things. :lol

I love Star Wars, TLJ is up there with BR 2049, TLJ story was soooo beautiful, like nature,...Mommy Disney can I have more ***** milk....so thirsty for more...I love Star Wars...Its like smiling and Smiling is my favorite

Like I said, you're taking a mere assumption by some documentary filmmaker as gospel but don't expect everyone else to make the same leap just because you declare it to be so. Especially when common sense and George himself has always said otherwise.

Star Wars TLJ....perhaps the biggest disappointment of all time...for the real fans

As of now Difabio and Worgar are the real rebel heroes on this thread...General Khev and The New order must be stopped...Jye is the Bartender on Tatooine

:lol You apparently don't understand how documentaries work. It's not a "mere assumption by some documentary filmmaker", but the ceo and lawyers at Hasbro who were being documented. They paid an astounding amount of money to regain the licensing, so they are literally insiders. They have authority on the matter. According to them, there was a correlation between the business deal and the trilogy.

You cite a documentary as evidence, and then the moment you realize you've misquoted the documentary, it's "mere assumption by some documentary filmmaker". :gah: You're being ridiculous. Just admit it: You don't know what you're talking about. :lol

Again, George contradicts himself all the time. I don't blame him. That is how PR works. What is he supposed to say? "We're making these movies to sell toys to your children." Uh huh. He'd definitely be telling everyone that. You seem to think that the laws of supply and demand didn't apply to Lucas, as if his studio existed in a vacuum. He employed a lot of people, and had shareholders to appease. That's a lot of responsibility. His explanation was responsible PR in promoting his studio. Like most PR, it was also bs.

Oh please, if you don't think that documentary filmmakers don't pick and choose the clips they air based on what they're trying to say then you're even more naive than I thought. This is beyond silly. Have a good one man. :lol

So now you're arguing that the documentary you cited misquote people from Hasbro? The CEO doesn't think there's a correlation between the license and the PT? That is some trick editing. You've gone from quoting a documentary, to arguing the documentary is conjecture, to arguing the documentary misquotes people. :lol

You don't pull punches when you disagree with people. There's nothing wrong with that. However, don't dish it if you can't take it. You can't throw the word FACT around in all caps repeatedly with a snarky tone, misquote sources and turn out to be wrong completely, and then get frustrated when people call you on it. :lol

Now I know how Luke felt after listening to Kylo Ren's speech. :monkey1
