Khev, as much as I admired him as a child, I’ll be the first to admit that Lucas didn’t quite know what he was doing at times, and I’m thankful he quit while he was ahead. Err, I think? We did get the prequels after all.Sorry but I'm going to side with him on this one. Sure he's changed his story on various items over the years but he's always maintained that the primary reasons for making the prequels so late was needing a break from SW and that he didn't want to do them unless VFX technology advanced dramatically. Was there overlap with toy rights? Sure, that's not in question but it was never the primary or even secondary reason that he waited as long as he did.
Anyway, he got his billions and passed the torch for future generations. Granted, a lot of them are sporting nostalgia-tinted glasses and blowing their brains out over the “travesty” of the newer films. Concerning the side stories, Rogue One didn’t please everyone and I’m sure the Han Solo movie, which is already in trouble, will do next to nothing to appease “real fans.”
At the end of the day, you could argue till you’re blue in the face, but the truth is... “real fans” aren’t worth the effort anymore and they haven’t been for well over a decade.
