Sorry but I'm going to side with him on this one. Sure he's changed his story on various items over the years but he's always maintained that the primary reasons for making the prequels so late was needing a break from SW and that he didn't want to do them unless VFX technology advanced dramatically. Was there overlap with toy rights? Sure, that's not in question but it was never the primary or even secondary reason that he waited as long as he did.
Khev, as much as I admired him as a child, I’ll be the first to admit that Lucas didn’t quite know what he was doing at times, and I’m thankful he quit while he was ahead. Err, I think? We did get the prequels after all.

Anyway, he got his billions and passed the torch for future generations. Granted, a lot of them are sporting nostalgia-tinted glasses and blowing their brains out over the “travesty” of the newer films. Concerning the side stories, Rogue One didn’t please everyone and I’m sure the Han Solo movie, which is already in trouble, will do next to nothing to appease “real fans.”

At the end of the day, you could argue till you’re blue in the face, but the truth is... “real fans” aren’t worth the effort anymore and they haven’t been for well over a decade.

It's interesting, actually. A lot of people on this forum were discussing whether or not the slump in toy sales related to The Last Jedi will affect the direction Disney has been taking with the films. Some people have argued that there's no correlation. Toy insiders directly involved with Lucasfilm seem to think there is a very real correlation because the billion dollar industry in connected.

So the current slump in toy sales may actually affect the direction that the films take.

Re: Star Wars Episode VIII (TBA)

Now I know how Luke felt after listening to Kylo Ren's speech. :monkey1

Emoting when you run out of premises just sounds like a tantrum. You lost the debate. Try to maintain dignity... :rotfl

Ah, you're one of those "claim victory by getting the last word" guys. Well by all means have the last word then. Because clearly the biased claims of some ex-Hasbro employees who lost a **** ton of money dealing with Lucas would definitely speak accurately and objectively FOR Lucas now wouldn't they? Got it. That's some genius logic there. Now post your smileys, have "the last word" and put everyone out of their misery on the topic, lol.

No, YOU have the last word... oh wait... :rotfl Yeah, you really got me there. You're one of those, "claim victory by telling your opponent he can have the last word, when the sources you've cited disprove your own position" type guys. As requested, here comes "the smiley". However, I put you out of your misery 4 posts ago. :rotfl

But yet, here you are...

What is it that you're trying to articulate? You don't approve of what I've posted? Why would I care? Sounds like approval is really important to you. You should talk to someone about that. It's unhealthy. :lol If debating over films bothers you, you're in the wrong thread. Why are you here? Looking for internet friends? :rotfl

I feel like there is a great siege at the castle wall: TLJ lovers are inside the castle while the masses of non-lovers are outside. The siege will be long. But the non-lovers are numerous and growing in numbers. The lovers inside are insolated and being protected by their King (Disney), their love supported by misinformation and propaganda... but they are slowly running out of supplies (excuses). It will be a long, long siege through a bitter winter...but in time the wall will fall.

Sounds like North Korea

I bet the box office would take a hit and the RT score would drop to 48% overnight if Kim Jong-un announced that he loved TLJ.

it's already spitting distance to 48% even without KJU LOL!!
