I really hope for those of you who hated it, that there's an old republic trilogy coming for you guys.

Written and directed by Rian Johnson.

I was with you until you pissed all over it in the end LOL!!

Welcome back buddy, just got back from my second viewing as well! :rock

Liemax 3D, 75% full, and the crowd reacted just as they did opening night. Laughed at the jokes, ooh'd and ah'd at the epic stuff, someone let out a "that is cool!" at Holdo splitting Snoke's ship, etc.

Yeah, I can definitely say I love this movie. It really hit me how much I like every single one of Luke's lines and the acting in this film is sensational! And not just Hamill but little moments like Leia and Holdo getting choked up when both saying "May the Force be with you" at the same time. Good stuff.

I was surprised at how quickly everything happened. Before I knew it the casino planet came and went, Rey was off the island and then the tree was burning. The film really moved despite the run time. And I totally missed on my first viewing that Rey hid away the Jedi texts on the Falcon before leaving the island. The scene where the skim speeders go all serpentine with the red dust spraying everywhere might be some of my favorite visuals of the entire saga. Really amazing.

I didn't come away thinking it was the greatest SW movie ever or even best film this year (BR 2049 is still tops) but I did come away with the firm knowledge that I straight up love this flick.

I felt exactly the same way seeing it the second (and third) time. Canto Bight flies by fast, the little things that big me don’t bother me nearly as much.
And yes, BR 2049 is still my top film of the year. Love TLJ but it didn’t surprise me how much I loved it like BR 2049. That film makes it into my “top 10” list as one of my favorite films of all time.
TLJ is a great ride with so much heartbreak for Luke. Realizing his failures, wanting to die because he feels responsible for everything and feels that even if he were to try and help again, he would just makes things worse because the old ways have to die. Luke’s journey gives me lots o feels!

so your explanation is "she didn't know" and basically invented weaponized hyperspace?

She rammed a ship at lightspeed. Neither ramming nor lightspeed were concepts invented by Holdo but from what we've seen on screen that was really the only viable moment to utilize such a maneuver. Buy by all means overthink a cool death in a SW movie to your heart's content.

Rian Johnson couldn't do an Old Republic trilogy, he clearly hates lightsaber fights :lol

Wow I just spent the last few pages being entertained watching Khev explain, dismantle and debunk every reason outside of the SJW stuff why some don’t like the movie.

Why did Snoke want Rey, really Wor? :slap

Whine, whine, whine. Go watch GotG 2 if you want rubbery indestructible heroes with no flaws. :wave

Just remember Khev girls are different than boys that’s who you’re explaining the movie too have fun lol

And how exactly do you suggest she should have known exactly *what* would happen? You think it'd be standard military procedure for the Alliance/Resistance to build entire fleets just to have other ships blast through them at lightspeed? It would be ridiculous to ever orchestrate such costly tests when they had the hardware and munitions to take out every type of craft the Empire could throw at them. Holdo's attack was clearly a desperate last second maneuver when all other options were expired.

Wow I can’t believe you had to explain this one just wow.

Agreed 100%!

Yes, good reminder on what we're dealing with in this thread. :lol

It's the ultimate set up, the clues have been left in front of everybody's eyes, 2hrs30minutes that led to the rebirth of Lucas' plans for Obi-Wan Kenobi in the first drafts of Return of the Jedi but this time it'll be Luke.

Shifting gears a bit...did anyone else catch the tribute to Hardware Wars with the close up of the iron when Finn & Rose board the star destroyer?

This is BvS all over again. Gaspar used to have what was called category 3 people who hated BvS because it was confusing :lol

I agree that The Last Jedi was BvS all over again. Episode 9 will be Justice League. :lol Shareholders will not be pleased.

LOL! You have to suspend disbelief in general in order to love Star Wars, so that’s not new to me. But when it creates huge plot holes and inconsistencies it takes you out of the moment. Like I said earlier, JJ has to deal with this stupid plot maneuver by RJ. He can’t just ignore weaponized hyperspace in Ep 9, on a pound for pound basis it’s a more powerful weapon than even the Death Star!

BTW you gotta love the Halo on Holdo’s head... and no it’s not photoshopped LOL!!

George Lucas tells Kathleen Kennedy what Star Wars is all about. Nothing to do with female domination. KK lies throughout. Count them. Did they do any of those things she said they would do?

Yeah I love this video, it's been making the rounds lately in all sorts of compilations. It tells a lot about her. Especially the part about protecting his characters.

Oh btw:

I can personally live with some broken logic IF the totality of the story makes sense but HUGE plot holes and lazy writing is another issue. for example:

why does Holdo wait until 90% of the shuttles are blown away before she goes kamikaze hyperspace on the FO fleet? and why doesn't she just have a driod fly the ship via autopilot?

They can’t just use up ships blowing them apart in light speed attacks. The numbers are apparently not on their side.
I doubt a small ship going by light speed would cause the damage needed.

By your logic the Japanese should have started Pearl Harbor by Kamakazi attack ...Suicide attack which takes lives and resources is a last resort of the desperate...which is what we saw in TLJ.

I think as usual , when it comes to military might, the FO has the edge using the remnants of the Imperial fleet.

Kylo has been trained for years by Luke and Snoke in the force. How does Rey, with zero training, beat him so quickly?

the list goes on and on...
This has been explained a hundred times before. Kylo was shot in the first film, and not in his best shape. Rey is the strongest force user Luke has seen since Kylo....

But as before , if you don’t like the movie , these perfectly logical answer will not satisfy you.

How did Luke use the Force to guide a middle into a 3 meter exhaust port after 30 minutes of training when he could barely “see” a drone shooting at him through a blast helmet?

When did Luke flip out over the death of some old guy he only met hours before?

Why did Like go on the crazy mission to begin with? Cause he fell in love with a hologram message in some droids his dead uncle bought?

You can tear anything apart...even the best of the trilogy, if you really want to.

What got thrown apart in TLJ was the Force itself....the other 7 didn't....the force traditions is Star Wars...TLJ...new force traditions not star wars, but Freeform
