I agree. I always go "oh damn" when someone chooses Balrog.

So who do you think is the cheapest character in the game? I really hate Blanka overall. He seems to have so many good moves that are hard to counter. I hate his damn dash that crosses to the other side of your character, which usually leads to a neck bite. And his #$^$%$ super/ultra. I hate it.

Also, Vega (Spanish) (simply because he's so annoying and jumpy), and cheap Akuma users.

Zangief and Balrog.

I don't have much problems against Blanka...I find that once you get a little bit of a lead, just let him come to you. If you chase him down youre going to get countered a lot. Blankas offense isnt very powerful against characters with good anti-air. Just sit back on your side of the screen and punish blanka balls with jab and anti-air him when he tries to jump in too close.

Zangief? Seriously? Zangief in SFIV is a lot less powerful than Turbo and SSFIIT... His Lariat once had one of the highest priorities in the game and only very few aerial moves (Cammy's light jump kick) could stop him . Throw fireballs and then jump in [with your prefered aerial assault] if they ever try the lariat... in SSFIITHDR that'll be suicide [especially if you are playing the very best Zangief players] but in SFIV, it's a very workable tactic...

But be ready to do a super-cancel out of that fireball animation, incase they try to do a supergrab instead... :monkey3

maybe the gief players you play arent very good. But some of the ones that ive encountered are annoying as hell. Only a noob player would use the lariat so much as you are making it seem like.... Gief has a lot of range with his jump in attacks and that green hand move to spinning piledriver pisses me off.

Add to that the fact that Gief is a tank and takes forever to bring down...considering that most combos are out of the question as trying to hit confirm will only end up with him taking you for a spinning ride.

All that aside, i didnt say I had major problems with Giefs...I answered the question which was "who do you feel is the cheapest".

No bite from this forums, didn't put it up any where else. Did you get yours yet?

Not yet, still waiting for the retailer to get theirs in. No one even knows when that will be. They all said sometime in april but now it seems that it could be in may if even that.

Zangief? Lariat?

Heh. Nice dig mate... if you say the Zangief players I play with aren't very good, then I'll unreservedly accept your knowledagble opinion about my playmates.

But the truth is than Zangief in SF IV is weaker than the previous iterations in turbo, and SSFIIT. I only listed the lariat to show an attack that's been lowered in priority, and to show that it's now a lot easier to come in with aerial attacks against zangief.

Also, the Lariat was one of the most effective counters to most aerial and body projectile attacks. Fact. Whether or not n00bs use the Lariat effectively is open to debate :D

And btw I didn't post my previous comments to say you were a weak player - on the contrary I was merely trying to be helpful... I dont know you so I wouldnt presume to know your skllset or the skillset of the people with whom you play.

Yeah, this is a huge problem, especially if you're playing with a character who had a low damage/hp rating. It's annoying as hell to chip away at his health, and if you spend 20 seconds getting his health down half way, he can almost even the odds with a single spinning piledriver.

His green fist is quite irritating as well. if you're hit, it almost guarantees a SPD, and if it's blocked, you really only have the option of trying to jab him or jumping up/away to avoid the SPD.

And thanks for the tip regarding Blanka, Nash... I'm usually too aggressive toward players who use him. I'll try and be more defensive.

Maybe but he's still one of the top four characters in this game.

I used Sagat a few times when playing some friendly matches (I never use him) and Jebus... he's a monster! I can see why people love using him so much.

Sagat is the best in the game....FTW.......*looks at avatar and smiles*

Played someone using Balrog again while I played Ryu. guess what? I lost 3-0. ugh i hate that character.

How the hell does his crouch jab spam have priority over my crouch HK sweep? Ridiculous.

Because it comes out faster and can be linked easily. Balrog's crouch jab is one of his best tools in battle, every good Boxer takes advantage of it.

I don't have problems against Rog because I use Abel primarily. Most good Rogs I play against are defensive and rightly so, and Abel has no problem against that. Marseilles Roll -> Tornado Throw.
