There are a few idiots doing just that in the thread about the incident. :lol

What is it about Nolan's films that attract nutbags? :lol

This still makes absolutely no sense. They were bragging about the presales and given most of the opening day shows were sold out everywhere and refunds aren't issued for chickening out of attending, it seems like they're blaming this incident for lackluster sales vs. it having any real effect on attendance.

I see this is a laughing matter. And choosing not to go to a movie after an incident like this is "chickening out."

The showings I went to was sold out both times I went. 10:30 pm Friday night and 6:45 pm Saturday night just for the record.

Do you think the wacko is going to break out of jail, get more guns, and despite there being hundreds of thousands of theatres in the US, cross several states to seek out the exact theatre you're in and open fire? Your chances of dying are better being the victim of a botched car jacking. You gonna stop driving? What's silly is the sheer panic over an isolated incident. I took my 6-year-old daughter to see it at 10am the following morning. If I had even the slightest hint that her safety might've been at risk, I wouldn't have hesitated to eat the cost of the tickets and wait for a later showing.

Why do people even care about the numbers for TDKR?

It's the last in the series, it's not as if it has to make money to get a sequel. Is you're enjoyment of the film based on how much bank it made? :dunno

The studios care. And I'm certain WB will gauge it to judge how big a budget the reboot in 2014 will get since, while it's technically not a sequel, it follows TDKR like one would timeframe-wise.

If the 160 million number is true that's quiet a bit under the estimates I saw floating around. Don't get me wrong that's a good weekend but not so much when I was seeing 175-195 million.
