I think what they mean is there will be no merchandise with Leia or Padme or any other female Star Wars character in an exaggerated, sexy style, I'm sure largely in part due to LFL dictation, as well as we know Carrie Fisher objected to the GG statue's showing, so a Emma style Leia would have to look in no way like Fisher I guess to avoid problems there, and with the current buzz about the MJ statue, they're probably going to look to avoid that PR nightmare. I think for the most part, Sideshow's Star Wars offerings are going to be true to film representations.

I agree with Sideshow on this one. SW doesn't lend itself to that kind of interpretation of its female protagonists.

Besides, the Marvel stuff is based on a specific artist's style, one who has done more comic-based art than SW-based.

Exavtly correct thats what I ment.

I wonder who SS considers to be the "classic core characters". For me it would be the iconic eight introduced in ANH. Luke, Leia, Han, Vader, Obi-Wan, Chewie and the Droids.

Yoda and Palpatine are obviously major figures in the world of SW but I would still put them just below those listed above.

We know from SS's comments that the next figure won't likely be Chewie, R2, or 3PO and we already have Obi-Wan and Leia announcements so that leaves another Luke, ANH Han, or dun dun dun...suited Darth Vader.

Since we just got Yavin Luke that most likely leaves ANH Han or Darth Vader as the next announcement; Vader certainly being the "most requested." We'll see if I'm right. :)

They said Vader won't be one of the next figures announced. I think he's being worked on, but not quite ready. Maybe next year's Toy Fair.

Ah, I wasn't aware of that. I'd say ANH Han would be the front runner then, unless SS considers Palpatine to be a classic core character. Both of those have certainly been "highly requested."

Who's the 2 pack? C-3PO and R2? Some side aliens? Han and Luke in Stormtrooper gear?

I've said it before and I'll say it again--- Lando and Lobot.

Of course I remember from CIV coverage that they said the first two-pack was going to be from the PT...

I think it may be Palpatine.

I remember an interview toward the beginning of the year that indicated another Sith would be forthcoming but not before several other figures were announced. In that time, if I remember correctly, we had ANH Leia, Yavin Luke, and ANH Obi-Wan. If that statement holds true, then the timing is right for another Sith, and it may be ROTJ Palpatine (although I am hoping for an ROTS version).

Maybe it will be wicket and a fellow ewok?

Damn....PT? :(

Even though it would be very expensive, I would love to have three PF's that could 'lock' together...

The obvious is Qui-gon/Maul/Obi-Wan....

But I think even better still would be...

Vader/Emperor on Throne/Luke...Wit Vader and Luke Clashing sabers in front of the Emperor! ....and he could have that evil and sinister laughing grin on his face! I would buy another Vader just to have that set up!!

Are you guys sure that the "classic core character" isn't Obi-Wan Kenobi from ANH? Because that's how I read it, if Vader isn't on tap for this year. And since Padme's on that list it's obviously not just stuff we haven't heard about yet.

That's a good point. Is the reference on that Powerpoint slide something other than Kenobi? Did SSC specify it's something they haven't announced yet?

And if the two-pack is Nute Gunray and Rune Haako, I'll be on board. I'm sure I'm part of a minority, but I like the Neimoidians.

The implication that the classic core character was NOT the old Obi. However they didn't say that the 2 pack and the classic core character weren't one in the same.

Also I doubt that the 2 pack will be over $120 - it could be that they decided to do a 2 pack because there aren't any appropriate accessories for either character.

That would be my guess on why it's Nute and Rune. Neither is exactly chalk full of accessory options.
