SW VS. LOTR #10: Darth Vader VS. The Witch King

I think Vader wins hands down in this match!! The Witch King is cool, but doesn't stand a chance of being as iconic as Vader. Almost every person in the entire world would recognize Vader, but how many would be able to identify the Witch King?

The Witch-king said "This is my hour!" like a kick ass villain.

I really can't belive that the witch King even has any votes in this poll.

Personally I think Sauron himself is giving a sigh of relief that he did not have to go up against Vader.

I think Vader, against any Bad guy in any film, wins the poll easily.

It's not that Vader is the most evil or has killed the most people or anything like that. It's just that he is such a cinematic icon.

Also I have been voting on who is the better character in these polls. Not so much who would win in a straight up fight.

Yeah, this isn't much of a fair fight. Both characters are kick ass but like was said above Vader is so well known by everyone.

Yeah, Vader definately wins. And Vader could kill the witch king, "He's more machine now than man, twisted and evil." and besides, it took everything to kill vader, the Witch King was killed by a midget and a girl, I mean, come on!

Vader dumped his wife for an old man and blames Obi-Wan for all of his ills. He's only a badass because he beats his wife and schooled his son in sword fighting, barely. He desperately amputated his son's hand to save himself from any further embarrassment. Vader is driven by fear in everything he's done, even his too little, too late "redemption" at the end. He will always be fear's biggest little b*ch. :emperor

Tough call on this one! I think if you leave out the iconic part about Vader out of the equation, the WK will win hands down. But the iconic part is there to stay, hence my vote goes to good ol' Vader!!

Not true. I tend to think LOTR fans tend to be more honest and I'm being honest that I voted for Vader.

Yeah, not much of a decision here.. also I tend to think of Vader more from the OT when he was just straight-badass and not quite as watered-down as the whinyness of the PT back story has made him. He is still a tragic figure, but I think there is more dignity and grandeur in him before the PT was released.

The Witch-King is a cool character, and very evil... but thats about it. And you never really get a good feel for the character of him.

As a firm believer that nearly every aspect of the LOTR movies are far superior to the SW movies (even the OTs), I've gotta be honest and vote for Vader. As the 6 installlments showed, SW was really the saga of the Skywalker family in the midst of, and influencing, intergalactic historical events, with Anakin/Vader at its core. The Witchking was formidable but didn't come close to the impact that Vader does.
