That looks bang on.
If I collected PFs, I would be all over this piece...Im actually considering getting it, even though I have literally no where to put it.

Really? Here he is right here!

:lol

Personally I think this PF is a poor likeness of Kurt Russell. I would say it looks more like Arnold Schwarzennegger. I think they might aswell just call it a Terminator PF.

:exactly::goodpost:

Agreed.
I mean, its a decent Kurt Russel likeness, but I can see more Arnold in there than Kurt.
So youre right, they might as well just make it a Terminator PF instead now.
:wink1:

Drooling...I want this one ASAP. The more I look at it the more I really really like it. Well that and I just watched the Terminator on Netflix.

In seriousness I think it isn't perfect. The forehead is too squared in but other than that....

Yeah, its not perfect(nothing ever will be)but I actually really like the overall piece.
The two biggest concerns I have are the glasses and trouser colour.
And Ive also never been much of a fan of sideshows paint apps on their figures and PFs to be totally honest.

people are still complaining about the likeness.:cuckoo:. some people just wont be happy unless Arnold himself comes and sits in their display case.

but then they will complain that he looks to old.:lol

:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl

He is looking a little rough now, compared to the terminator days...just saying :wink1:

Regardless this piece more than makes me happy thus far...if I can get excited about a statue from SSCs pics that usually is a good sign because in hand it always looks better in my experience.

I dunno I think some things could be perfect - it just doesn't tend to work out like that because its one person working on it (or 2 in this case) who isn't necessarily getting a consensus of opinions along the way as to things that may or may not be off. If opinion in this thread could have been taken into account earlier in the process I believe some things would have been improved like the forehead - I know I'm not the only person to say it looks wierd, too small and square like Duke Nukem.

Some things can be just short of perfection, where the smallest alteration could make all the difference. Take the HT T-800 sculpts - clearly Arnie in all the individual features, and the small detail like wrinkles and veins together with the paint is stunning, but the face just needs to be stretched vertically a little. You once did photoshops of the T1 sculpt that proved to me thats all that sculpt would really have needed to be perfect, the face being longer. Things like the sit of the hair comes down to personal preferance based on certain scenes or shots but that short face thing on the HT sculpts, I have a hard time thinking of that as anything other than an objective fact. Any side by side next to a pic of Arnie shows it pretty clearly, and I know its not just me, I wish Yulli had noticed.

Hey! don't be picking on Mr. Olympia winner Franco Columbu!!!!!!!!

:exactly: The Pictish Scout! Nice one, brother! :rock

I'll be back... when this piece comes out. This thread grows more boring by the page with all this debate of likeness. Has anyone picked up on that yet? It's a bit subtle, so I can see it being difficult to spot. Good thing precision in likeness isn't the only thing that defines the righteousness of a statue and that some folks can accept it for what it is... a kickass piece of statuary. :rock

My buddy Mike Najera painted the prototype, I think he did an outstanding job. Mike Najera has been a free lance artist for Sideshow for a few years now, he also paints for Pop Culture and Magee Fx.

He will be one of our guests at the One Sixth Xpo. He will be doing a painting demo and will be available to answer any questions you might have about painting techniques.
