Re: Building the ultimate Terminator T-800 figure.

yea i did have to use the neck adapter but it really worked out a lot better than i thought it would. i was a lil worried about the hips not fitting like my predator dutch but the mk1 body fit like a glove........so to speak...

Awesome, I'll get one of those then. Wonder if its too late to add to the order I placed yesterday. They sell them as well.

So then I'll just need the neck plug and gloves and I should be set :rock

Re: Building the ultimate Terminator T-800 figure.

Lilnoosh1, best get in touch with Darren Carnall although he probably wont have any sculpts ready for a while. I'm aware that he sends his master sculpt to the US to have recast, which I imagine is time consuming in intself ..on top of his commissions and other projects coming up + honeymoon - it may be a while. It would not hurt to send him a message though, as it may still be possible to get on a wait list for the next round of heads. I know he has another round of Anakin sculpts to do (which I'm down on), so maybe there's still hope for you to get the Arnie.

Barryo, thanks for the comments! :) I lucked out on that RC fatboy! but still on the lookout for any others on ebay and locally. There are some nice model kits listed but they're out of the price range ($150US +). Yeah the sunnies are huge lol! but better he has those on instead of seeing the shocking white eyes for the time being :D

Regarding the body types, not sure why the Hot Toys body has been so elusive for me but here is a comparison of the BBI, ACE and Toy Soldier. I found that the TS is still the best proportionately. The Sat Toys biker outfit just fits right with it, as compared to the ACe which bulges at the shoulders and upper thighs.

Having said that however, the Ace is still also a good option as it adds about another half cm in height (great for posing too), however the pants are a snug fit. The BBI is my least favourite, but is a nice alternative as a cheaper generic body - I've seen these sell for $5 on ebay.

Re: Building the ultimate Terminator T-800 figure.

Thanks for the comparison shot, the slope of the shoulders on the Toy Soldier is really nice looking... gives it that body builder look as opposed to how flat it looks on the Ace and BBI.

Re: Building the ultimate Terminator T-800 figure.

Well, anyway decided to go with the ACE and ordered a pair of gloves. So I think now aside from needing a neck plug I've got all my pieces assembled and in process.

Re: Building the ultimate Terminator T-800 figure.

the to solider body is definitely the one to go with , the body fits perfectly. :rock

Would sideshow hands fit on one of the toy soldier bodys ?. Or maybe bbi.

Re: Building the ultimate Terminator T-800 figure.

I know that sometimes its necesarry to either mod the hand or wrist peg to fit. Dremmel tool can be very helpful in that scenario.

Re: Building the ultimate Terminator T-800 figure.

I reall need a dremel for all this customizing , I keep meaning to pick one up.
Knowing me I will cut my finger off in about 4 seconds. :lol:lol

meh..........just sculpt another one using supersculpy..........:D

but seriously dremels are almost a must when customizing. they tend to make things a whole lot easier & are very versatile.

Re: Building the ultimate Terminator T-800 figure.

Heck yeah they are... even for the most modest of customizers its a must.

Re: Building the ultimate Terminator T-800 figure.

is darren carnalls sculpt different on the connector to the sidesow head.
I was told ( and still think ) his custom head fits on to the sideshow body with a little glue but I couldn't get the default sideshow head to fit at all ?.

Re: Building the ultimate Terminator T-800 figure.

Hicks, you're right - the neck socket on Darren's sculpt fits on the buck's neck adapter but does need to be glued to stay on permanently.

Re: Building the ultimate Terminator T-800 figure.

WEAPONS

* The hot toys VULCAN M134 with ammo, spaz shotgun and Terminator 1 pistol with he laser sight on top was all brought with the hot toys terminator figure.
If you want to make the ultimate custom of this figure its wise to buy one of these first if you can afford it.

* The grenade launcher is available now and then from one sixth depot but can also be found on ebay from time to time. Not sure who makes it.
Two different types are available , one with the aimer and one with out , I think with is most movie accurate.

so the majority of the weapons arsenal come from the HT Terminator figure - how many of these guys where made?
and the lever action shotgun is from the SS Terminator

so the head would still be poseable right ?.
You add a little glue and spin it around or something I think I have read before.

Re: Building the ultimate Terminator T-800 figure.

If you glue the head to the neck plug yes. Basically its the same as any other head, but since its custom you won't have an exact female match to the neck joint. However, if you glue the head down (or use some removable adhesive) you'll retain full function.

In case you're not sure what I mean... if you boil and remove a head (say Sideshow) the base of the headsculpt is connected to a roundish disk. That disk is where the articulation is, so if you glue a new head onto that you will still get the same range of motion as before.

Exactly! I did the same thing when I converted my T-1000 to a Hot Toys True Type body, worked like a charm!

Rock on man :rock

:lol Oh i'm a big fan of many different films man! Thanks again for the hook up, as Red would say in Shawshank "Much Obliged"

Re: Building the ultimate Terminator T-800 figure.

Well, got in a bunch of pieces for my Terminator today. I'll post pics in a bit, right now I'm charging the Dremmel so I can shave down the hips on the ACE body... just a bit too tight for the pants I bought. Aside from that it should work out really well :rock
