Re: Building the ultimate Terminator T-800 figure.

:lol :lol :lol Luckily mine had no interest in that flick, she does like some stinkers but that was a dodged bullet.

And the jacket will be fine; I was planning to weather it anyway. And for $35 shipped I don't feel to bad.

Oh yeah you bought the set to make a T1 custom right? (Police Station) Still $35 shipped is a good deal, I bought a set from HK for $50 delivered. :lol Still hard to believe I paid $50 for toy leather clothes.:D

They're damn pricey... but honestly with a custom head, body clothes and the rest I'm still looking at around $150 for a kickass T1 Terminator. Which is still less than the BD Hot Toys version (which would need a new head anyway).

Re: Building the ultimate Terminator T-800 figure.

Oh, and what do you guys think about these shades? Not 100% accurate, but I thought pretty close for a T1 and about $6 shipped from HK.

Re: Building the ultimate Terminator T-800 figure.

Worlds better than the SS shades. Where from?

Re: Building the ultimate Terminator T-800 figure.

It was in this auction:
Sunglasses

I bought them, kinda sucks that with shipping its $7 for a hunk of plastic... but thems the breaks :lol

I was thinking I'd alter them a bit to be more accurate (raise the bridge between lenses, etc).

Re: Building the ultimate Terminator T-800 figure.

Also ordere some boots, pants, and a shotgun today. So now just need a body and gloved hands and I should be set. Then the waiting game begins for the head to be cast and painted.

Guess I'll just go with a HT body afterall and mod some dragon gloved hands to work with it.

Re: Building the ultimate Terminator T-800 figure.

Yep, I agree they look like what you'd want. Although you might be able to get the gun and grenades in a set. Maybe save a few bucks on shipping.

If anyone has a link to such an item please post it, i'm looking for both items together.

Re: Building the ultimate Terminator T-800 figure.

Small update on my Arnie. I had been waiting (a long time) for a friend to paint up the Darren Carnall sculpts which never happened, so I had to make a go of it myself. This is the second head I've painted (first was snake plissken which I posted in the customs forum)

..anyhow I'm happy with this so far. I have not done the eyes yet as I think I need to buy a finer grade paint brush (is there a brush smaller than size 0? ..can't seem to find one), which is why the Arnie is wearing his shades for the moment. Also need to add highlights to the hair as well. I have the battle damaged head and will post that fig when I get around to painting it.

Great work from all you guys!! :D

Re: Building the ultimate Terminator T-800 figure.

It looks good so far, his face appears to be a bit pale but other than that its a real neat and clean paint job. I'm sure when its all done (lips, eyes, hair) it will shine. The sculpt truly is a beauty and the Saturday Toys suit just rocks!

Good work!

Re: Building the ultimate Terminator T-800 figure.

Thanks Voorhees! Yep the sculpt is fantastic, and is very easy to paint - I think that no matter how basic the painting skills, that the likeness of the sculpt just makes the character come through (no matter how bad the paint job haha!). You're right about the Sat Toys outfit, as it also makes everything fall in place as well. I hope more turn up on ebay for other people doing this project, as I haven't seen any listed in the past week. Oh yep, there's still plenty of work to do on the paint job and I'm really enjoying the learning process of it all. I'll post again when those other features are done - eyes, lips and hair :)

Re: Building the ultimate Terminator T-800 figure.

wow........GR..........that is a nice paint job. he looks fantastic to say the least. my only critique would be the glasses. a bit over sized for my tastes but.........other than that outstanding. & you are right about the sat toys biker set. you cant hardly make that thing look bad. did you ever pick up your fatboy????...:google.......thats the kind of question that only a biker or true terminator fan could appreciate.........:lol

Re: Building the ultimate Terminator T-800 figure.

Nice work on your Terminator... what body are you using? Pretty sure I'll be going with the HT, but still not 100% on that.

GB..........that mk1 ace body fits really well in the biker toys set. the only thing i really had to do with mine was pad the chest a bit but that was really just a preference for me.

Re: Building the ultimate Terminator T-800 figure.

Really, I was thinking the arms would be too thick? Did you have to use a HT neck plug to get the head to fit.

yea i did have to use the neck adapter but it really worked out a lot better than i thought it would. i was a lil worried about the hips not fitting like my predator dutch but the mk1 body fit like a glove........so to speak...
