Yep thats a significant point. T2 may have made a good guy out of the original bad guy but it introduced a new bad guy who had no qualms about killing anyone. Many people just prefer to see Arnie in bad guy mode, myself included, but I don't think there was anything innately wrong with the Terminator portrayal in T2. He didn't get around to killing anyone in T2 but we do know he was still amoral as evidenced by his lack of understanding about why theres anything wrong with killing. We also know he was capable and willing to kill up until the point where John told him not to. For the point at hand it doesn't matter that we don't see him actually doing it. The T-1000 did his share. Again, it just comes down to which T-800 you prefer watching - either the unhindered one of the first film or the restricted one of the second. In the context created in T2 the castrated T-800 works fine. Where it works less fine is in T3 - thats where he really was played for laughs and had all his threat stripped away for no apparent contextual reason.

"no killing" is not the problem of t2. it is only the result of problem.

The T800 in T2 was programmed by the resistance

and that is why non-killing and mentioned john connor scene look even more false together in one movie.

In the context created in T2 the castrated T-800 works fine.

and here is the problem.
creating a tank-in-clothes in first movie and turning it into almost-alive-guy in the second. it just frustrates me, even more than anderson's avp and what it did to predators - it was at least a stupid childish movie from the beginning, not like t2.

Maybe you guys should move to the Terminator threads

I know everyone has seen a bunch of these bashes, but I just thought I'd share a few pictures of mine, since I finally got around to change the body...

...and since I bought the 'Neca 12" Pascadero escape' Arnie (which I think is a fair representation of that scene), I finally got a chance to change the pose too. So this is supposed to be the "Cyberdyne showdown" T2. I just forgot to change the shirt and the head looks better with the sunglasses on. So it's not that accurate, but it looks good to me, crappy pictures though (lighting was off)...

Funny thing is there is always room for improvement... I'll be content with HT versions, but love seeing how the more hardcore accuracy fans can take what I thought was great and make it look even better.
