Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

So apparently the rumor is
Genisys is the program that becomes the new Skynet and alters Connor.

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

T2: battle across time , had the crappy humor.

Indeed. I never realized the whole thing was available on youtube. Kind of fun to watch more T2-esque scenes after this many years.

I kind of wondered if it was always supposed to be the "official" end of the T1/T2 saga but now that I've finally watched it it clearly was not. Lots of continuity issues but obviously it was never meant to be anything more than a ride at an amusement park.

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

In Terminator 1 Reese protects Sarah from the Terminator who is trying to end John Connor.

In Genisys
Sarah protects Reese from John Connor who is trying to kill them and the Terminator.

For a whacky high concept they had some real kernels of cleverness in there. We'll see if the "full retard" approach to that concept makes for an entertaining ride or not.

There has to be more to the story. I refuse to believe the studio just gave away a major twist like that in the trailer. Maybe from the start of the film we know that John is a villain and it's only a surprise to the characters when they see him transform later on? :dunno

Yeah, the studio would never allow anything that stupid.

You mean like letting everyone watching the T2 trailer know Arnie is the good guy this time, or everyone watching the T3 trailer know the nukes would eventually fly anyway, or Salvation letting everyone know Marcus was a Terminator all along?

Well, in T2 I knew Arnold was a good guy the moment he didn't kill anyone in the bar scene. A real Terminator villain would have killed them all. The T3 nukes could have been a dream just like the scenes with the endoskeletons in the trailer. Was Marcus being a robot really supposed to be a twist? He dies in the first 5 minutes of the film. I think the real "twist" was that he was completing his mission all along, even when he thought he was helping John Connor. That's why I think there's more to the story in Genesis, but maybe the studio is really that stupid.

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

Well, everyone is saying Matt Smith's character is the other twist. But how much of a twist can it be now that we know to expect something as soon as he appears on screen?

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

Well you know that makes sense because they really don't show him that much in the trailers, so maybe there's something going on there. Now I'm interested again in this Turd-minator film :lol

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

I'm sure they'll spell all of that out in Trailer #3 as well as revealing that the Asian T-1000 is actually an ally.

Incidentally, I foresee the T-1000 being destroyed relatively quickly since he's not the main villain of the film. Wonder how they'll do it

Oh I'm sure Pops will be "waiting" for him somewhere with a shotgun. Clearly a foolproof way to ambush an enemy Terminator.

Acid bath according the early screenplay drafts.

Firstly I'd like to point out that I called this correctly many, many pages ago in either this or the HT Terminator Genisys thread over in Aliens and Robots.

Secondly,
