I think the difference being that when they spent 6.4 million to make T1, they hoped for a good return on the investment. With Genisys they spent 155 million and expected to make a profit not based on the quality of the film but due to advertising and all of the devoted Terminator fans that would see the film no matter what. Whether the film sucks or not they're going to make a profit. That's a cash grab.

Rewatched it.
The worst thing for me is the look of the movie, from the actors to the costumes, fx, cinematography...
Its just look freaking baaaaaadddd.
I would have given the script a pass if at least they respected the look, designs of the first 2 films.

They lifted the ban this year.
