The thought of this movie makes me sad.

The thought of two more before Cameron finally gets the rights back and can shelve them for eternity makes me sad...

Genisys was actually not as utterly horrible as I thought it would be, but as soon as it left the 1980's and ran out of ideas from discarded Cameron drafts to steal, it really ran out of steam. I'm not really sure there's much of anything to work with to make a compelling sequel out of, let alone two.

The thought of Cameron receiving pay checks to pimp two more movies before finally getting the rights back and shelving them for eternity makes me sad...

Avatar 2 anyone?

The thought of more fanboys crying makes me happy.

The terminator knows why you cry. And is laughing while he cashes his check.

Oh thank god, I hope this is true.

Now they just have to burn every single physical and digital copy of everything after T2 and all will be set right.
:lol

I recently threw my SE copies of T3 & 4 onto eBay. For the longest time I tried to like those movies, & while there's some good stuff peppered through them, neither have any re-watch value to me anymore.

They're both equally bad for their own shameful reasons. :monkey4

Looks like Genisys will be the swan song of the entire Terminator franchise, despite solid numbers in China. Paramount seems to be shelving it until Cameron gets the rights back in 2019 in favor of more Transformers and Star Trek films. Cameron of course will be busy with the next 16 Avatar films and hasn't ever really sounded very excited about returning to the series anyway.

Terminator: Genisys Sequels On Indefinite Hold

At least Genisys allowed me to finally see T1 on the big screen and gave us a a sweet future war.

It was the domestic box office that killed the franchise. I guess the studio doesn't want to take any chances and rely on the foreign boxoffice. I can't blame them.

I could see Paramount thinking that China saved their asses and and now will just call it a day before risking a true financial disaster. Can't say that I blame them. I do think that the series ended on its highest note since T2 at least.

Yeah, it made $440 mill, which is consistent with T3 ($433), T2($519), and TS ($371), so it shows that despite the horrible review, the Terminator franchise still has legs and a fanbase. It'll be back :lol

Will still pick up the 3D blu-ray on Tuesday.

Hopefully the director or writers will at least go on record and clarify some of the film's unanswered questions like who sent Guardian just so we'll know even if there aren't any new films.
