Same here- thought it was a good Terminator film....but no way could it support another...

That ought to be it for the whole franchise. Nothing left to do. Yeah if they got someone decent they could do a proper 2029 movie but quite simply not enough people care anymore.

Which runs contrary to what he says in T3 - ''I am an obsolete design''. Not that it really matters.

What's T3? :lol

Overall, this is my 4th favorite Terminator film.

1 - T2
2 - T1
3 - Salvation
4 - Genisys
5 - T3

Stuff like "talk to the hand" just puts an overall quality to T3 that just feels really out of place in the franchise, there are some great moments in the movie overall, but just not a very good experience from beginning to end. It's like a music album with 10 songs but you only like 2-3 of them. With Salvation and Genisys, I at least like 5-7 of them.

I would never argue the values of T1 vs T2, it just comes down to what I grew up on. I was introduced to Terminator 2 around 10 years old because they played it on TV and it was edited down to like PG-13. I had all the toys, watched it over and over, it quickly became one of my most favorite movies. T1, being older, wasn't often aired on TV and by the time I finally saw it, Terminator 2 had already come to define a Terminator movie for me, so for a long time, T1 was too different for me with Arnie being the villain, and I was only a little kid in the 80s so the outfits seemed a bit ridiculous. Today, as an adult, I have a greater appreciation for it. At one time I'd never own a Tech Noir outfit figure but today I do.

While Salvation wasn't Cameron's future, for me, once you look past that and just take it by itself, there's some pretty cool characters and performances that make it pretty enjoyable, and despite using existing characters, Genisys has a more serious tone and some highlight moments, and I thought old Arnie was a better incarnation than the T-850.

I dare say, one thing that affects the sequels since T2 is the humanization of the T-800. It was special in T2 because he spent the first film as an unstoppable killing force and to change him was a big deal, but now there's just a constant need to make him the same character he was at the end of T2, but it doesn't work as well to start out like that.

So T3 is the "Use Your Illusion I" of the Terminator franchise? :lol

Yep. Studio execs keep missing the point.

For me it's:

1. T1
2. T2
3. TSCC

I pretend like the rest didn't exist. :lol
