To the same degree that you hate the knee pads I hate the face so I have a hard time understanding that. I will say so far this is a great looking sculpt providing the color is like that of the advertisment.

OK. So.... how does that mean I'm "railing" against your opinion or that I'm a hypocrite?:dunno

Perhaps railing was a bad choice of words but the comment was to illustrate that you were OK with the face but couldn't understand why people hated it at the same time you hated the knee pads. I was comparing the likes and dislikes of the sculpt to explain why some collectors hate the face. It a personal choice. I have seen many many depictions of Thanos both in print and 3-D format. I can say that for me the face on this sculpt does not represent how Thanos should look.

Since this pose is very very eerily close to Bowen's pose most people expect the face to be similar. It appears that Sideshow liked the Bowen pose enough to copy it but they wanted it to be different enough to distinguish the two. I think the knee pads and face are an attempt to do that and if Sideshow wanted to be different from the Bowen Thanos they should chosen a different pose altogether. Overall this sculpt looks great and I think Sideshow has done a great job. This piece may or may not be a grail but time will tell.
