It all is just a matter of opinion.
Thanos is my hands down favorite comic character of all time, no questions asked. And from a hardcore fan, in MY opinion the old Bowen, and the 2 new Bowens bury the SS version in the dirt and then take a piss on it. The grin is the silliest thing I have ever seen. I'm keeping my SS version, because again the character is my fave, and after seeing the Lim custom head a few posts back, gives me hope I can mod the head to look right. Overall I like a lot of things about the SS version, but I just feel Bowen captures him true to his comic book style.

My post talked about how your post, and mine were opinions. You have yours and I have mine, so telling me my personal opinion is wrong makes no sense. And I did not say I wanted to resculpt my Bowen's head. I said after seeing the resculpted head, made me think about doing that to the SS piece. Reading sure is hard!

I guess I can't disagree with you more. IMHO Bowen's 1st Thanos is still the BEST! The only flaw with the piece was the color blue on his costume that marvel insisted Randy use. As a pure sculpt, the Bowen Thanos is still king of the hill.

What isn't childish about this? The sculpting details are simplistic & crude. the pose, (though virtually the same as SS), comes off as being stiff & again crude, & let's not even get into color. Just a bad sculpt all around.

My personal opinion, that I hold in my head that Bowen's version buries Sideshow's is my opinion. Another word for opinion could be preference, if that word makes more sense for you. Preference is seeing two things and one of them gives you more butterflies in your tummy than the other.

Therefore my personal feelings, that I hold in my head cannot be wrong or insane because it's how I feel.

Now as a big boy you can disagree (it means you feel differently), but you cannot tell someone their opinion is factually wrong. Factually means that it can be proven. Example: Fact: 2+2=4. Opinion: Grape lolipops are better than cherry.

Who care's i think everyone can agree. Both SS and bowen version of thanos are well done. If you looking for Comic accurate version of thanos bowen is the line thats done this.

If you want something different with an artist interpretation or scale then SS is the alternative

divo, just curious if you like any statue made by bowen?

The short answer would be no. Why? Because of the unrefined sculpting & detailing, repetitive static poses, & flat paint apps.
Now, I am not trying to rain down on all the collectors still under Bowen's toxic spell, (must be something in the paint fumes), but this guy is way over rated. Bowen just got a huge head start time wise, & through the years has flooded the market. I don't blame collectors, because for many years Bowen was one of the only games in town. I too was hopeful years ago when I first saw pics of Bowen product, but quickly sobered up once I had the chance to see statues in person, & decided to wait it out. Now that Gore group & Viggiano studios are handling SS marvel line, can one truly mention bowen in the same sentence? I mean they have raised the bar to a much more refined, sophisticated level, that I can never look back. I actually feel sorry for bowen collectors, save your money, because SS marvel grails are just around the corner.

Now for "honorable" Bowen sculpts; Batman on gargoyle (nice design & pose, ____ty sculpt & paint. Silver Surfer (same as Batman), Hulkbuster (never saw in person but looks pretty good), Juggernaut (same as Hulkbuster), Planet Hulk (looks ok), Apocalypse (not bad, but too static), Mephisto (never saw in person but looks pretty good).....etc. But still think that Bowen fell (falls) way short on most of his products. I will give Bowen credit for being prolific, (not sure if that's a good thing) & showcasing a wide variety of Marvel characters, (which I'm sure SS could also churn out if they adopted the cookie cutter approach).
