Re: The "All things Terminator" thread.

Another DX13? How many do you have now?

Oh just one currently. I need another 238 and DX13 to finally complete the T1/T2 T-800 collection. Did you bought new boxed figures or got the parts when doing your secondary look?

Bought the full boxed figures. I wonder if I should sell all the spare parts.

Skynet's facial recognition shows no match. John Connor continues to be elusive. Humanity saved.

Re: The "All things Terminator" thread.

Anyone read anything recent about the Genisys sequels? :monkey3

They're doing a sequel but recasting everyone except Arnold.

Courtney and Clarke confirmed they're not coming back, which is great since they were terrible as Reese and Connor.

What the studio should do is hire a Rian Johnson or a Matt Reeves or a Joseph Kosinski to work on a script for a few years and then helm the picture to be shot on film with minimal green screen.

They need to return to the feel & tone of T2.

They should even bring back Brad Fiedel to score it.

Re: The "All things Terminator" thread.

Much as I do think Courtney was a terrible Kyle Reese I don't think recasting again is going to help. It's a big part of the problem with the whole franchise after T2, no actor ever returns except Arnie. It creates a big disconnect for the audience IMO. There's no hope of building any sort of emotional connection with any of the characters.

If they were to do another sequel (and they probably shouldn't bother), casting should be way the **** down the list of priorities.

I would actually pay ticket prices to the current Terminator franchise owners if they DON'T do anymore movies. James Cameron has expressed zero interest in furthering the series and he's busy with Avatar, Stan Winston has passed away and Brad Fiedel has long retired.

If there is one singular person on Earth who would stand a chance to further the franchise is Josh Friedman, but we're already nearly a decade too late.

Re: The "All things Terminator" thread.

Rather re-watch T3 ROTM than see another reboot/sequel/recast. Hollywood's insistence and getting a winning franchsie at all costs is much like Ducati in 2011-2013. They tried everything to turn things around which only made the underlying issue and situation worse. Sequel this sequel that, recast, re-write, get a new director, all save Arnold. it's not gonna work. Besides Arnold is starting to be too old to play a Terminator.

I agree they should re-develop TSCC somehow as a cable series but I don't think they'd be able to get Lena Heady back for it.

Re: The "All things Terminator" thread.

They should have scrapped the ridiculous gimmicky TX and Arnold was better suited to play the bad cyborg in T3, I honestly don't think it would have damaged the appeal of the series at the time that much. Bringing him back as a protector over and over again is just ridiculous.

As for TSCC on cable, I love the idea but I don't think it's remotely possible due to how much the actors have aged plus the low demand for the series (irregardless of the quality).

Re: The "All things Terminator" thread.

They love repeating the T2 gimmick, but never the T1 gimmick. T1 was a much "scarier" film since Reese couldn't fist fight Arnie and had to rely on wits and evading. All the punishment put on Arnie, and all it amounted to was a jamed piston in his arm which almost immediately gets fixed. I don't count his bum leg after getting run over since that wasn't intentional.

Having the protagonists severely outmatched is part of the reason I like T1 better.
