Why does Linda Hamilton look so aged? She is only 63. The lines on her face are what you would see on a 100 year old black woman. She must have lived a hard life...

I read that she has struggled with alcohol or drug addiction. That puts a lot of stress on the body. Glad she was able to get it together again and hopefully she will stay on the road to recovery.

Enjoy. Sincerely. Enjoy as much as one can.

I did enjoy it.

This is an extremely solid "mythos" movie. I quite love how the lore was expanded in fact. The cast was totally solid minus the bad guy Terminator (Rev-9) lacking charisma.

I apparently was *very* in the dark about the plot of this film because I was really caught off guard by how Rev-9 and Grace fit into the story and the events surrounding their origins. My absolute favorite part of the film was
the new "Edge of Tomorrow" style future with the black tentacled Endoskeletons.
That was a complete surprise and now I want to see an entire future war movie about *that* lol.

The present day action sequences were "good enough" but surpassed none of the chases in T2 and lacked the atmosphere of the chases in T1. So that's where the "Force Awakens" aspect comes in. Because if the action can't match previous entries then it begs the question of why bother in the first place. Fortunately for this film though the answer of "why bother" is simply "because it's fun to see Arnold and Linda in their iconic roles again and watch how they interact." Because *unlike* the ST neither character is sidelined or ruined. Not even John himself since the impact of his death has major ramifications throughout the entire film and is even a major element of...well how things play out (I know most probably know all the spoilers but I'll still keep it vague for now.)

The sentimental aspects of Genisys (that I genuinely liked) were present in this film too but with pretty much no out of place humor anywhere. Not once does "Carl" try to smile or do anything goofy.

I was surprised how well the Dani character played into the story. She's no Ripley or T2 Sarah but she *did* do just as good a job, probably better even, than T1 Sarah. And I thought she had the right vibe to be believable as to who she would become.

Arnold was awesome, though again his action scenes were shadows of previous entries. That opening scene though. :thud:

But the mythos, that was a total homerun for me. I'll wait till some other folks see it before going off on how much I love the reason that they said that Judgment Day is inevitable in these movies and what the endgame of the machines *must* always be. And no it isn't simply being defeated by some single savior of humanity or that savior's parents in a past timeline, lol.

We're back in a bit of the loop that the end of T1 gave us and while they *could* keep showing us how the loop might play out I kind of hope that once again Parts II and III get cancelled. Because this movie doesn't even need a Part II or III.
It doesn't end on a cliffhanger or with an unsatisfying lack of resolution. It really is like T1. We know what will probably come, we got closure with the characters in this film, release this as a trilogy box set on blu-ray and call it a day.

I enjoyed it too. I feel Khev just about summed up how I feel about this one as well. Though Dani bugged me a little bit, I just couldn't get behind the fact she was the "savior" of humanity.

Im sure the three packs of camels a day have something to do with it lol.

Sounds like it's Cameron's cut and that he took over the movie in post after Miller filmed additional sequences that deviated from the original script. Cameron saw the initial cut and said nope and re-edited it to better match his approved story.

"It wasn't a slam-dunk at the time," Cameron said of the rough cut. "I felt there were a lot of pathways that were taken that were unnecessary. I'm an editor myself, so I gave notes that were both broad, and very specific. I continued in that process up to about two and a half months ago when we locked picture...I never went to the set. I've yet to physically meet the new cast because I never went to the set. But I was very involved in the writing and I was very involved in the cutting of the film. And to me, the cutting is really an extension of the writing."

Glad you liked it too. You've summed up what I think of the film too except for Rev9 (which I really liked). I liked the way he hunted his prey down. He was very different to the past "evil" terminators in terms of his social skills and resourcefulness. I might be biased though since I liked Gabriel Luna in his stint as Robbie Reyes.

Pretty much the same RT scores as Joker, lol.

Joker

Critics: 69%
Audience: 89%

TDF

Critics: 69%
Audience: 87%

:yess:

I'd compare it to the last "Cameron" film, Alita:

Critics: 61%
Audience: 93%

Pretty close.... I actually like this movie more than Alita. :chase

I wonder if him not setting foot on set for one single second was a requirement by Hamilton for her to agree to return.
Apparently she wouldn't even take his calls when originally approached to reprise the roll. I suspect that you are on to something.

I wonder if he'll grow on me. I mean his unassuming demeanor made sense for a robotic infiltrator but I kept waiting for there to be a moment where I went "aha, THIS is why they hired this guy" and that moment never came. What you see in the trailers is really how he is for the entire film. At least he wasn't having random orgasms like Kristanna Loken and only spoke when appropriate unlike Genysis John.

I did really like his separate endoskeleton though and was glad every time that thing emerged.

Yeah I remember hearing that too.

Also that dumb line from the trailer "You may have changed the future, but you didn't change our fate" wasn't in the movie, at least that I noticed.

And Sarah's "resume" speech about how apparently she alone saved three billion lives was changed to "we" saved three billion lives (referring to her and John) in the finished film.

So far the movie is bombing big time!

That is what you get when you do that kind of movie after many failures. Good...one day they need to learn this in a hard way. But it is their fault. They had 3 bad movies to learn before this.

Also this sums it up pretty much:
