Of course it didn't help that Spawn was essentially Venom with a cape, chains and green magic.
I.....never thought of it that way. But it's true.

New footage looks great
Venom sucks, nobody would go see a movie all about him. This isn't the 90s any more.
This one makes me want to see the movie more than any of the other trailers. Looking like a pretty great Spidey there. I really dig the scene in the office building.
Same here, I found the humor in TASM1 to be kind of awkward, this scene actually made me laugh.
"I'm going to embrace the spectacle," Marc Webb told fans at his South by Southwest keynote earlier today at the Austin Convention Center. "There was a moment deep in the [first film's] post-production process where a giant lizard smashed through a wall chasing a boy-man in a unitard and I said, 'This is not grounded. I'm not going to be beholden to smallness. I want it to be fantastic, to be big, to command and express that feeling when you're a kid and reading the comics. ... I didn't want to hide or shy away from that." With a total of three villains in the follow-up (Jamie Foxx's Electro, Dane DeHaan's Green Goblin and Paul Giamatti as Aleksei Sytsevich/The Rhino), no one could accuse The Amazing Spider-Man 2 of being grounded! However, Webb is well aware of the concerns over crowding the movie with too many bad guys. "We're obviously familiar with the complaints people had We're very careful to make sure the stories intertwine. For Peter Parker, it's very important that you create obstacles that are difficult to overcome." He would then add that The Rhino is, "in the movie for four minutes."

Jeez, Andrew Garfield seems just like his Peter Park in real life lol
I like the "distraction" part at the end of that clip. I may not be sold on the villains yet but I'm looking forward to the Spider-Man/Peter Parker scenes the most anyway. The fights/action will look pretty and well-choreographed. Hey, if I get some decent villainous character development out of it it's a bonus.

As Spiderman I liked it, but some other stuff I found weird, like the train scene where he’s accidentally beating everyone up. This scene is kinda reminiscent of that actually, except this time he’s doing it on purpose
See there ya go. Rhino is probably like a first villian battle which is excellent. He won't be in the final battle and he is pretty much just comic relief. I like that .
Wonder if we will get that cheese scene like we did with that crane scene from AMS.
The angle is possibly already there. If Harry's jealous about all the attention Parker's getting from his father and he's being ignored, and Harry finds out he's Spider-Man, then it makes sense that he'd use MJ for bait which easily sets up the accident. Sure you won't have the huge emotional impact the comic did with Parker and the Osborns being so close beforehand, but given the choices made so far in this franchise, that's likely of little importance.
On another note, I'm wondering if they'll finally reveal Parker's genetic engineering in this film, or if that footage was burned.
You touched on something I didn't think of there! It's quite possible that Harry drinking the "Lizard/Goblin" 00 formula is part of his twisted idea to get his father to "love" him because of Norman's twisted obsession with Peter Parker. He probably figures if he can be powerful like Spidey/Parker, his dad would appreciate him.

That's very similar to the Ultimate universe, where Ultimate Norman/Goblin even called Peter Parker his "son" numerous times because Spidey was the successful product of the OZ formula.
From Parker's/our perspective, we just discover Norman's been watching Peter for a looooong time, but Harry might've known about it for quite a while already, and his finally telling Peter about it could mean he's finally fed up and wants to meet the subject of his father's obsession, face-to-face. Of course, this is just speculation, but it would set up him using Stacy to goad Peter/Spider-Man or even attempting to kill her out of hatred for him.
It seems early on that Harry cares for peter so I wonder what finally pushes him over the edge to want to kill him?
