The crane scene is laughed at, but whenever I see it it gives that inspirational feeling toward the protagonist

Same here, the scene gives me a inpirational feeling but I felt that it was a little to long and took away time for some more in depth story telling.

Actually I just felt that there was to much web slinging in the first one. I felt "we get it, Spiderman is back", just felt a little over done.

Loved what they were doing, could've been executed a little better tho.

And I just can't get over the fact he got shot... I mean, does he have Spider-Sense? I watched the movie again and it wasn't clear to me.

Sigh... That's kind of a bummer really... His spider-sense is one of his greatest powers... With his "Way of the Spider" technique and all...

It's just that in ASM1 it seemed non existant

In the original trilogy it was set up well with the type of spider biting him having that ability, I just think its kind of an afterthought now.

I'll also admit that the crane scene in ASM gives me good feelings goosebumps. :monkey4

I like the crane scene. I don't mind those kinds of moments in my super hero movies. If I saw a super hero fighting a super villain and I had a chance to help, I'd probably take it...so I totally buy into those kinds of scenes...i mean...I'd get a pumpkin bomb to the face or something but the effort would be there :lol

I actually cringed at the crane scene. Just felt corny to me. The web slinging was great though.

Anyone waiting for spidey to be in battle and run out of web fluid it never happened in Ams .

I'm sure they mentioned it in the movie, but it would help if they established how much web he can store in there....

Wait... He has to keep buying these webs since he doesn't make it....
Wait... Oscorp will see someone using their web cables...
Wait... They can easily be like "why is this kid buying a whole bunch of the cable cartridges"...
Never really thought it thru huh

At least when this version of Peter runs out of web fluid, it isn't all a big metaphor for his sexual shortcomings and uncertainty if he should even be Spiderman. The whole unable to get it up plot really weakened SM2 for me combined with a Peter so completely inept he can't ride a bike down a street or ever, ever have sex. Ever. "I'm Spidervirgin no more!" I identify more with a guy that actually has fun being Spiderman and ya know, likes women.

Wait that was a plot in Sm2:lol

He lost his powers because he wasn't sure he wanted to be Spiderman anymore. He couldn't "shoot his load" so to speak on something of a dry run.

He wasn't sure he wanted to be Spiderman because M.J. was banging an astronaut instead of him. He gave it up and still couldn't get laid, even when MJ had her Revlon wedding dress commericial and ran away with him.

This has been one of my biggest gripes with that movie as well. It just never technically made any sense.

LOLOLOL One of your best posts! :lol

Reasons like this are why I like Garfield better than Maguire!

That, and at least Garfield can change the tone of his voice. Listening to Maguire speak is like being in a 4 hour college seminar listening to Al Gore ramble on. Zzzz
