This movie and its pittyful domestic earnings are just......ugh. Whatever.

As a spiderman fan and a huge one at that I say whatever to. I liked the movie but I wanted this to be TDk of spiderman movies and it wasnt and now people will have even less trust in future movies for spiderman than they already had and now I feel like you cant really say anything because they have a right to be worried. I mean sure the third movie could surprise us all but im not holding my breath.
Im just like why dont we take a break and let spidey rest for awhile. I think he sort of needs it. Not to mention the show is probably the worst spiderman show in the history of spiderman shows.

The official release date is the 19th of August, and they confirmed it will have 13 deleted scene. Who knows what they could all be. I hope they are good one's by the least. Regardless I will buy it so I can watch it like 90 more times, honestly I enjoyed it.

Spider-Man 3 did better financially and critically back in 2007 and was unfairly rebooted. Does this mean ASM2, the worst Spider-Man film in terms of box office revenue and critical response will also get rebooted?

I'd like to think so!

they should take a completely different approach, and sneak it past us. release a simple teenage angsty highschool drama film.

And peter parker is not even the main character.

We don't even meet Peter untill the last 10 min of the film, on the field trip, and he only gets bit by the spider in the last 5 min of the movie.

Reboot this time should mean transfer back to Marvel. :lol

Ughhh, even if it goes back to Marvel, reboot means we have to watch PP get bitten again.

I hope they do an "Incredible Hulk" thing where during the opening credits it is somewhat shown, the biting, uncle ben getting shot, Gwen dieing, since you already know how it went down, and just go straight into the action.

But only in the opening credits. :yess:

:lol

ok fine..i'll join in :yess:

You owe Khev forum credits :lol

What it needs is a rest and yes marvel does actually need it back now. I feel its the only way to gain the movie fame again. People lost all faith in sony with this franchise. Wouldnt be surprised if we heard the news that spiderman is back with marvel in a few months.

Start off the first film with kraven and peter already maintaining a steady career as spiderman. The opening scene could be him fighting rhino.

That's what they should have done with TASM1.

What a sick and greedy world we live in where 700 million box office is considered a massive failure, not including DVD and TV sales.

:lol

considering how much this film cost to make, they aren't making that much money off of it. I for one don't think it's nearly enough money to warrent spin offs, and even though the film has grossed 700, it's barely clipping at 200 domestically, where the studios make more money.

But it's not that 700 is really bad mind you, it's the fact it made less than the last one, cost more to make, and got bad reviews. Sequels make money because they work off of the momentum of the last film, right now ASM 3 has little to no momentum going for it because ASM 2 hasn't played that great to audiences and ASM wasn't received that well either. I can't see how spin off films will favor any better. They only thing I can see working is Sony making two lower budget but greatly made films to lead into ASM 3, which will also have to be tightly written and made, then Sony might have their billion dollar film.

I think D/M and Sony are both between a rock and a hard place.

I'm sure D/M WOULD like to get the Spidey film rights back on some level, but then what?

Even if the rights reverted back to them tomorrow, what could they do with them? It's not like they would fast track a film into production. Even with the, "Marvel Studios" banner working for them, Spidey is box office poison right now, and it would have to be a TOTAL reboot (again). No Raimi, and certainly no Webb residue can be left over.

Then you would also have fans asking why if they had the rights back, how come Spidey isn't in the Avengers? They couldn't do that either (or maybe they could), because I'm sure they would want to establish their version of the charactor first, before they have any crossovers.

Right now, D/M just collects checks to sell Sony's Spidey and that's probably preferable for them at this stage. D/M gets none of the grief and all of the gravy.

They don't have to worry about production budgets, marketing costs, opening weekend numbers, tracking the movie all over the world, or any of that BS. That's Sony's problem.

So even if they got the rights back, you're looking at no Spidey movies for at least 5 years (which would be the best thing for him), and most likely, no cameo in Avengers 3.

Sony? They're just screwed. Can't reboot, can't make, "Universe building'' films (unless they have the same budget as the Spidey made for tv flicks had in the 70's), can't make ASM3 without spending a fortune, can't sit on the rights.

Now what?

I don't even know what they hope to make off the early DVD offering. I mean, if you saw the movie and hated it, would you buy the Blueray?

Yeah, they're screwed.

They could possibly make a deal with D/M, but for what? Spidey isn't worth what he was 10 years ago, and I doubt D/M wants to pay for a charactor that they own outright. Would you?

What happens next is now anyone's guess, but regardless, the next few months should at least be interesting.

Fix'd. I liked where you were heading, but no more clouding the major players.

They don't need more villains, they don't need omg foreshadowing, just Kraven and Peter, develop them, make it a real story; they did it with Peter and Gwen in these movies, they just need them in a better story with a great villain. I'm not sure how it would play out on screen, but I'd love to see something like the story where Kraven buried Spiderman and took over the costume. If, they want to intro a villain, please do it mid or pout credit. Have clear stars of the flick. I think there was initial excitement, but then mounting dread for every new villain seen for the latest flick.

Whao wait a minute now. Spiderman is not box office poison. It can still hold its own, it didnt make much becuase the poor choices of sony. Spiderman still is a money maker.
