At last year's Comic-Con, Avi Arad was asked about the potential of Spider-man and The Avengers meeting up on the big screen and he brushed it off. He seemed to think Spider-Man had enough stories behind him that he didn't need to be a part of the team.
Now after the movie juggernaut that The Avengers has become, he's having second thoughts.
When talking to Crave Online about it Arad said, "Everything is possible. If something like that happens, it’s great for Disney, it’s great for Sony, if the right story comes in. We are now working on Venom first. It’s our first out, so our thinking is in the right direction. Avengers to me was an expected success so I never looked at it because Avengers was successful.”
"The way to make team-up movies work is to create the raw materials, both technically and creatively, in other movies first," he continued. "Team-ups can happen once you create the character, establish the CG, otherwise it’s not affordable.”

So there is a Chance to get Spiderman in the Avengers? I would like to see that, that would be cool

What's that quote about Venom above? Really? They didn't learn their lesson from SM3? Rushing to get to Venom again? Am I reading that correctly? Those of you optimistic about this series are so effed if I'm reading his quote about Venom and the Avengers correctly :slap

yes a SOLO Venom movie is in the works, I don't know if that means spiderman wont show up at all but Ive been hearing about that for a while now, seems like is finally getting made,

The only problem with Venom (besides the voice) was that there was not enough of him. They should have ditched Sandman completly.

They should've ditched Venom completely to use for Spidey 4, kept the Eddie Brock storyline in, and just left Sandman as the main baddy.

I think is the other way around, the movie was supposed to only have Sandman and they added VEnom at the last minute,

I don't know why, I mean, like you said I also question why use sandman instead of Venom, I Guess because the third movie dealt with forgiveness? they needed sandman so that Peter would learn to forgive him? I don't know,
all I know is that Sandman was the only villain, then they added Venom, I wonder why they chose Sandman over Venom to begin with

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

I believe Raimi did not want Venom and that Sandman was to be the only villain. But Sony bowed to fan pressure and he was included. They should really have waited until Spidey 4. Sandman is a great villain and he go got lost in the ensuing mess.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

It was suppose to be sandman and vulture but vulture is a crappy villain lol and people love venom . In fact I always said this reboot was made to include venom more. I don't know.

Raimi wanted VULTURE and Sandman...along with the whole Harry Osborn New Goblin storyline.

The Art of Spider-man 3 has some initial storyboard artwork with Vulture. There was some storyline they were thinking about that Vulture breaks Sandman out of prison and they team up because of their mutual hatred for Spidey.

Venom was then "pushed" on Raimi, though the book mentions it all in a professional manner and not the fact that he never wanted Venom.

They handled Venom so badly...I almost think Raimi WANTED the film to do bad so he could get out of doing Spider-man. Even Spider-man the Animated Series handled Venom better! I could write a better and more plausible script to explain the Alien symbiote better than they did in the movie.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

plus Venom looked pathetic, he was barely on screen and then he looked like a weird baby lizard...

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

There're loopholes so long as you ignore his heritage. :wink1:

He was in X-Factor, but was he ever even an X-Man? His original team post bad guy was Avengers. I think its nice of Feige to say both camps can use him, because it seems he would clearly be an Avenger character. :dunno

The raised messed up webbing on venom was unique but that's about it. The way he talked and acted was stupid. Those high pitched wails and the topher voice was horrid. Also I'm pretty sure venom wouldn't need help from the sandman to take spidey down. Spidey ran from venom on more than one occasion .

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

I just couldn't get over him not saying "Kelso what the hell?" anywhere in the movie. I mean, what was Raimi trying to do? Make a serious Spider-Man film?

LOL

he ruined spiderman,
then he went and ruined Predators
I wonder what else he is going to ruin next, and the worst thing is that, I Liked him, I thought he was funny in the show, I liked him as the little skinny smartass nerd, I had no problem with him on the show,
then he goes and ruins two movies out of the park, wtf? (Im not saying predators was bad, or comparing it to SP3, im saying his performance in it was terrible, it ruined it for me a little)

he was so out of place and they knew it, they should have just shot him from the start. :hi5:

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Venom was ruined from the start. There was nothing wrong with his performance in Predators. It wasn't great or anything, but he did his job.

I think you just hate Topher.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

I love Predators (watching it now actually) but for all its issues, Tophers part is the worst. Its the character and how hes supposed to be portrayed, he just sticks out like Jar Jar in Star wars. I don't think anyone could have improved the character in the movie.
