Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Post conversions suck. Unless it's thought of before filming, in which case it can actually be alright. But 90% of the time it's a tact on marketing ploy that looks like ____.

The Avengers looked OK, but wasn't great, and actually made the movie less enjoyable. For me anyway. So 2D forever with that movie.

But Prometheus was pretty cool, Avatar looked amazing, and Transformers 3 was the coolest, easily so far. You just have to do some research.

Transformers sounds like it was a blast. That I would have tried in 3D. As for Thor, that did nothing for me. Totally unnecessary, IMO. If anything, it was more a detriment than enjoyment.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Transformers was awesome. Well, the last hour anyway. The other stuff....well...yeah. :lol

But all the action was so well done in 3D, I got lost a few times. Especially the building scene. And the sky flying scene was pretty amazing too. Knowing that it was almost all real,

Friend told me this morning director Marc Webb was on a radio show talking about the new movie .saying he wants to tell the tragic story of Gwen Stacy pretty interesting if done right .

I don't really see why the Spidey reboot was needed right now, but The Amazing Spider-Man has its virtues. Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone are stellar and director Marc Webb has crafted a Spider-Man that touches the heart.

That said, the actors make this Spider-Man feel pretty amazing indeed. Garfield’s awkward, self-doubting spin on Peter is very different from Tobey Maguire’s wide-eyed wonder, and the layers Stone brings to Gwen make her every scene pop.

If Sony has to keep making these movies, this is as good a way to go as any.

I'm all for that. Too many people are familiar with MJ at this point. Focus on Gwen, and I think you'll have a lot more people intrigued, myself included.

Would take some balls if they decide to kill her off when spidey is fighting the goblin .

I love that idea. It would be such a sad moment in cinema if done right.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Of all superheroes, Spidey seems the best suited for 3D. That said, follow Celtic's advice and do 2D first then 3D. I saw Thor in 3D the second time at the cheap theater. Like nearly every live action movie I've seen, it looked bad. Hugo was the best I've seen but I believe that was filmed in 3D, no?

I'd like them to go down that 'dark' path. It's one of, if not, the most memorable milestones in Spider-Man lore. I'd really enjoy seeing that play out, IF done properly. (And that's a big 'IF.')

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

The most consistent praise for this film has been the handling of the relationships Peter has, if they were to adapt that iconic story then this would be the actors/director/team to do it best it seems

I'm just skeptical of any franchise that I hold dear to me. :lol I'm sure I'll have renewed faith once I see this one though.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Knew this was coming :lol:lol

He's gotta get it in before TDKR's released and gets spanked by Spidey's box office because people prefer an upbeat funny superhero to an EMO crybaby with daddy issues who gets his ass handed to him by a bald midget with an athletic cup over his face. :huh

:eek umm... ____ let me get some popcorn. Nam just went full Pandora's box on Batman. :fireworks

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Nah, TDKR is going to wipe the floor with this movie.

Hopefully. :lol

Although it doesn't matter, I just hope it flops so Marvel can get the rights back. They can keep Garfield though. Dude is awesome. From that 25 minute thing, he was as Parker, and way better then Tobey.

But yeah. Rights, give them to Marvel FFS.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Batman is so much more anticipated than this film. Spidey has two weeks tops IMO.

Agreed. Great action film.

As or Spidey, I hope he does well. The previews look really good and they seem focused on character development and back-story with intense action.
