Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

:lol A webheadwhacker dissing on Avengers? Spider-Man works more than Avengers because avengers didn't have the "serious" relationships Spider-Man has? This clown doesn't have the slightest clue what he's writing about. Avengers wouldn't have worked to the tune of almost $1.5 billion dollars if people didn't care about the groundwork and relationships established since Iron Man, waaaaaaaay back in 2008. That idiot needs an enema and a reality check. :monkey1

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Not seeing where he's dissing avengers can you point it out to me?

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Re-read the 1st and 2nd paragraphs. :monkey1

Still not seeing it, but i'm very tired.
"both are very strong movies for almost entirely different reasons."

And since this is his avengers review.....

Only review i really care about though..thanks KAZ

I just came back from the premier of The Amazing Spider-Man & this film does not disappoint.

Andrew Garfield's spidey is witty, fun & smart to watch on the big screen. The pacing of the film was nicely done, you never really get a dull moment even though they are going back the same old slightly different origin story.

This film has totally taken away any of the bad taste left by Spider-Man 3. Seriously, just give it a chance & go watch it.

You won't regret it.

He starts out the second paragraph with a fully intended slam on Avengers explaining how Spider-Man works so much better because it "does what no other superhero movie has done to date, treats its relationships with reverence," blah blah blah, inferring Avengers does not. I don't doubt for a second this movie will work and make millions (and hopefully billions), but to falsely pedistal it over Avengers, and every single superhero movie that came before it with bull____ lies, is lame.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Falsely???

You don't know that it is or isn't better

Do you the relationships in Avengers were shallow and meaningless all the way back to Iron Man in 2008? :dunno

The way he worded his review was that no other superhero film before Amazing Spider-Man has treated relationships with reverence. i.e. they haven't had special, meaningful relationships between characters. That's a crock of ____.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Iron man (2008) isn't Avengers (2012) though. When reviewing this film reviewers have to review ONLY this film not the leads ups or prequels to it. So perhaps he thinks the relationships ar ebetter handled in this film than in that other one film

To say that no other superhero film has done that is his opinion, doesn't mean you have to agree.

He states it as a fact. And even in Avengers, despite the action, that's one of the things Joss nailed to a T (and it better be given that's his strength). From the $10 bet between Cap and Fury, to Widow and Hawkeye, the relationships were far from shallow and meaningless. Hell, even something as far removed as Hellboy had depth in the relationships between the characters.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Best not to take it personal Nam. His mention of this being the best handled relationships in all superhero films doesn't mean he's picking on just Avengers.

And even if he is, it's not like a person isn't entitled to not like Avengers if he wishes.

I lost quite a bit of respect for Sam Jackson when he _____ed about one single reviewer not dishing out praise. Everyone else did and this one guy didn't so Sam Jackson named and shamed him for not following the herd.
