Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Best not to take it personal Nam. His mention of this being the best handled relationships in all superhero films doesn't mean he's picking on just Avengers.

And even if he is, it's not like a person isn't entitled to not like Avengers if he wishes.

I lost quite a bit of respect for Sam Jackson when he _____ed about one single reviewer not dishing out praise. Everyone else did and this one guy didn't so Sam Jackson named and shamed him for not following the herd.

How do you know it wasn't a ____ing hipster hating on Avengers because it's successful? And I don't think Sam's worrying about you losing respect for him. He's probably laughing in his millions about it.

Re-read the 1st and 2nd paragraphs. :monkey1

I've read that review which is quite well written. I don't see where he has bashed or belittled Avengers in any way. He calls it a very strong movie but that it is a strong movie for different reasons to Spider-man. He also says
THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN does something [bold]almost[/bold] unheard of in the superhero arena: it treats its relationships with reverence
. So he is not saying relationships have not been handled with reverence in other movies. I loved the Avengers and i have seen ASM too and the relationships are more developed in ASM. I really do not see the problem with someone liking a movie for this reason, even liking it more than The Avengers.

What I have noticed in this thread in particular is so called comicbook fans of another franchise continually slag of Spider-man. It seems to be widespread through the web. Just read to rubbish on IMDB and some fool who started a thread about "Anaoher one bits the dust", and goes on to say now that we got the rubbish ASM out of the way role on TDKR. He hasn't even seen ASM nor ever intended to see it. I'm a big fan of Nolan especially is work outside Batman Mytology it I do find the worshipping of the guy and his movies disconcerting. It is way over the top. I don't recall ever reading the same stuff about Americas great director Martin Scorsese or the greats like Ford,Hitchcock etc. I'm sure they guy must have 24 hour security service to protect him from the nutters out there.

To anyone who hasn't seen ASM just go and see it with an open mind. Leave the baggage of "reboots" behind you and enjoy or don't enjoy the movie for what it is and on its own merit.
