Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Actually your showing your ignorance as you have admitted
1. You haven't seen the movie.
2. Your not familiar with Webbs work.

And then you proclaim that that the producers should hire another director and set of writers. If people made those assertions in the Promethus thread you would have jumped down their throat.

One, it ain't out yet. So I can't. All I can do is make assumptions. :lol Unless there's a bootleg running around. Link please. :lol

Two, so what? If the movie requires me to read the comic, then it failed. It has to work for people who don't read them. And I won't. Movie has to stand on it's own merits.

And it being close to the comics is also good.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

I've seen 25 minutes of this thing :lol....it wasn't that impressive. Outside of Garfield.

And no. No I am not. Because he's only made one film. And it's the kind of film that doesn't appeal to me.

So all I can do right now, is speculate, guess, and go off on what I've seen. And none of it is looking all too great.

And by the way, most people in the Prometheus thread are doing the exact same thing I am doing, but I don't give a ____. It's their opinion, they can have it. Who cares?

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

LOL. Every time someone critiqued the movie you interjected. When you have seen ASM then I'll be interested in your opinion of the movie and not the trailer.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Uh, I interjected every once in a while. You're thinking of someone else broski. :lol

And if I did, it's when I could actually prove them wrong. Which, honestly, wasn't a lot of times. :lol

I will see it at some point. Perhaps midnight since there is zero chance of fireworks here in Colorado....due to those fires. So that'd be something to do.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

I think in the next movie they should introduce Norman Osborn but not make him the Green Goblin just yet.

And if the rumors of the whole "Spidey in 'The Avengers'" are true and Sony and Marvel Studios have reached a deal, they can start introducing elements of the Marvel Cinematic Universe into Amazing Spidey. Like in the Ultimate Universe how a lot of the tests Oscorp was doing were trying to reproduce the Super Soldier serum, this whole animal/man testing they are doing could be to develop a new derivative of that. Meaning that the Green Goblin of this can be an off-shoot of the Hulk (though you would almost be repeating the whole "Lizard" monster angle and it would be a repeat.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

I hope you enjoy it. It has alot to offer.

I will try. But i'm a huge fan of the first two Raimi films, and I hate the existence of this movie. Just too fast. And it's an origin story.

That's been my problem since day 1. So It could be good. But I'll still hate the fact it exists.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

I love the Raimi movies but he made a mistake of not having Gwen Stacy as PP first love and have GG kill her as in the comics. Then we would not have needed the reboot.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Sure. MJ sucked regardless past the first movie.

But the reboot is for money. Which is why I found it to be a bit shoddy, the reboot so soon.

So we'll see.

This is why a lot of people/reviewers are saying this is the movie we should have gotten first. Raimi flicks were meh.

Finally a good SM movie.

So is Iron Man 2 & 3, Thor 2, Captain America 2, Avengers 2, the Batman reboot :dunno

Still, it seems...

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Oh no doubt. But still. A successful franchise, ready to have another go, is canned for a remake. That's just silly.

Batman is ending. So it makes sense to reboot it. Spider-Man's story wasn't over.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

i've never considered a comic book movie other than Watchmen to "end"

Batman/Returns could've continued, as could post-Batman & Robin, Fantastic Four had more stories to tell.

They all could go on an on if the stars were game, oftentime studios reboot to liven it up i guess (which is working for this imo)

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Batman's story is over in a few weeks. It's done. And that's it.

If Spider-Man ended. Parker retired, or whatever, and they said "This is the end"....then ok. Reboot it. But since Spider-Man 4 was a go, with the Lizard, and everyone was on board, and then suddenly it was canceled, and quickly rebooted just seemed wrong to me.

It seems more wrong to me now after that 25 minute clip.

But like I said, I don't mind being proven wrong if I get a good movie out of it.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

I thought Raimi's Spider-Man 2 was one of the best comic book movies out there. Still do. Great action. Doc Ock. No emo Peter Parker. Minimal MJ.

Spider Man ended after 2 because 3 was so poor. Rebooting was the best way to go.
