Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

What lizard regrows arms? I know some can regenerate their tail. A starfish can grow a new starfish from a cut off appendage but then your in Bikini Bottom fighting Patrick.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

I think they just generalize it as lizard instead of saying Salamanders can regenerate. Plus, the character is named the Lizard, so a little stretching needed to be done.

What human beings turn into lizards? When did we find alien symbiotes? He's not a lizard, he's a man who's injected himself with the regenrative properties of said reptiles and thus experiances it all throughout his bloodstream.

I don't need to. The movie should work as a film, without the comics.

See this is basically what I figured, that most people who prefer Raimi films have no background on the character and labor under the impression anything he did was original. Both movies are similar because both referance the source material, the differance is Raimi bastardised it. Organic web shooters, no Gwen's death, Doc Ock dies, Sandman is misunderstood, Peter never once wonders what actually happened to his parents...

As an actual fan of the character well before he came along, I can safely say I prefer them staying true to the reason he's popular and we got any movies ever to begin with then a guy who's famous for titling the camera 30 degrees and zooming in with Macy Gray cameos spin on it.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

I said it before. If you're going to reboot a movie, THIS is how you do it. I think the big thing is the cast. They just work together, i actually give a damn about them unlike Tobey and Kirsten.

I think the sequel truly has the potential to be AMAZING.

8/10

The cast did work spectularly well for this film, i loved it before Spider-Man showed up because they all just worked so well together

Suspension of disbelief though, i guess one could say they heightened the tail regrowth factor DNA to encompass all cells :dunno

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Aunt May spoiler?

Anyone else get the feeling toward the end that Aunt May knew or at least was thinking he was Spider-Man?

Maybe not each but at least twice there were times where she's watching the news and Spider-Man is there or mentioned and then Peter comes home all bashed up and she has the contemplation look to her

I'll gladly take his "bastardization" over really anything in this movie.

Even though it's basically the same film, with character differences, and stolen web shooters.

Oh she definately knows imo. She suspected it but after watching the news and then seeing the way he came home, she knows.

All yours.

That's what i figured, and i liked how that worked, Aunt May while not as doting as Rosemary Harris seems to notice Peter and who is his moreso

I know people have a big issue with Spider-Man revealing his identity or too many people finding out, i think that aspect was handled well

He told Gwen because he trusted her and it brought them closer together

The Lizard figured it out by Peter leaving his Camera behind

He revealed himself to Captain Stacy to save Manhattan and Gwen. To some his handling of this news maybe a problem as up until then he hated and hunted Spider-Man and after he flip-flopped stance, but in that position to find out that this vigilante was just a kid trying to help and the same kid dating his daughter changed that, so i was okay with it.

So with Aunt May knowing that makes four people which is quite a few, which isn't the best, but i guess the way in which these happened to me is fine.

It isn't bad really as Alfred, Rachel, Ra's al Ghul, Lucious Fox, Reese Coleman and soon to be Bane & possibly Jim Gordon all know Bruce Wayne is Batman

I remember that song. But so what. Spider-Man's for kids. Kids love them Nicklebacks. Just like they love dubstep and other horrible crap. :lol

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

I was a kid when it came out and I definately did not love the nickelbacks. :lol

Wears his father's glasses while hipstering, not poor, falls into an old wrestling ring, Norman Osborn is Peter Weyland, utilizes Oscorp technology & hot toys instructions to make web shooters, Captain Stacy doesn't die because of Doc Ock and Spider-Man battling/doesn't save little kid, everyone knows who Peter Parker is, Spider-Man don't ride no stinking skateboards . . .

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Neither did I. :lol

But i'm still technically a kid now, and I hate dubstep. But the majority of child human beings love that sheet. :D

When the hell was Curt Connors ever a creepy single British guy who had semi-control over his Lizard personality? In the comics and animated series, he's a dedicated family man and has no control over the Lizard's urges. This Lizard seem to know what he was doing.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

I liked some Nickelback but most dubstep irritates me, but there are some good ones and i'm 16.
Anyways, going to see this with the GF next week, I hope it's as good as most people are saying it is on here.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Funny how the organic web shooters were credited to Raimi when it was already present in the draft of the script James Cameron wrote (ys, James Cameron was once approached to direct Spider-man, ohh the HORROR!!!)

Saying Raimi got famous for tilting the camera and then zooming in really shows that you know nothing about filmmaking technique and Raimi in general.

That guy practically rewrote the rules on the angles and camera movements that could be achieve before we have all this CGI camera stuff.

The one standout thing between ASM an Raimi Spidey is the camera work. Raimi has a lot of beautiful and technical camera movement that work so well with the comic book aspect of the movie while ASM feels like a TV movie (and at one point an MTV) to me.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

I saw this in 3D

My first time seeing anything in 3D, at first i didn't like it as the glasses darkened everything, i thought they'd compenate by making the picture brighter, but no. Anyway there didn't seem to be alot of 3D, the parts i could remember distinctly, were the Oscorp hologram, and most shots of Spider-Man swinging, the final shot where he shoots web at you was AWESOME!!!

And i enjoyed the FPS scenes, they mixed things up abit and showed how frenetic it would be to swing as Spider-Man

he's a dedicated family man and has no control over the Lizard's urges. This Lizard seem to know what he was doing.

Since

they didn't kill him off, they needed a reason for him to not to become the Lizard in prison by getting all aggitated and triggering it, hence the Serum to transform. With the scene demonstrating his thoughts i see it as the Lizard brain taking over and making him do these evil plots, like Dock Ock in SM2
